Audible Police Alert Both Directions
Users should have an option to enable or disable audible alerts for police on either side of the road. If I’m driving down a road why wouldn’t I want to be notified of a police officer just because he’s on the other side of the road? To me, this seems more necessary than a police on my side of the road seeing that there may be cars needing to go around the officer on the opposite side of the road. I’m not sure why this isn’t an option.

Hypocrisy
I cannot add a destination from my car screen because of your ideas of “safety”, yet you had annoying alerts regarding a stupid sports event taking my attention from driving.
There was not even a way to turn it off. And other alerts I would like to pause for hours, days or weeks but the choice is on or off.
Additionally, when I start waze I dislike the cutesy startup stuff that wastes time getting started. I want the option to turn it off.
You may also consider a Hybrid Car mode that focuses on side streets. It is also…

Alerts problem
Not an idea. This is a PROBLEM. I have the useless “car on shoulder” alerts turned off, but now suddenly I am getting them. Please fix.

Bush Fire & Smoke Alert
During Trinidad and Tobago’s dry season, bush fires often create heavy smoke on highways and roads, causing drivers to slow down or stop suddenly. This can be dangerous for vehicles approaching from behind.

Bonjour à l'équipe Waze et à la communauté,
Je souhaite vous proposer une amélioration pour l'application, particulièrement utile lors des trajets du quotidien et pour lever certains doutes de conduite (notamment sur le réseau routier en Belgique où les radars fixes sont très nombreux).
Contexte et problème rencontré
Lorsque nous franchissons un radar fixe, l'application affiche la vitesse autorisée en temps réel, mais cette information disparaît dès que le radar est dépassé. Il arrive souvent que le conducteur ait un doute immédiatement après le passage : "À quelle vitesse suis-je passé exactement ?" ou "La limite était-elle à 30 km/h…1 vote -

With the increasing implementation of free-flow tolling systems (electronic gantries without traditional toll booths), drivers frequently risk missing the fact that they are entering a toll zone if they are familiar with the local road. - Moving Police Patrol Alert
I would like to suggest adding a second type of police report specifically for officers who are actively driving rather than parked.
Current police reports work well when an officer is stationary, but they become inaccurate once the patrol car starts moving. A separate report type—such as “Moving Police Patrol”—could solve this.
Suggested functionality:
- A driver reports a moving police vehicle and selects its direction of travel (northbound, southbound, eastbound, or westbound).
- The report follows the road instead of remaining pinned to a single location.

Report of a distance check
In Germany, besides mobile speed cameras, there are also following-distance enforcement checks. In Germany we call it „Abstandskontrolle“. These are typically conducted from bridges over highways, where officers monitor whether drivers maintain a safe following distance. It would therefore be very useful to have the ability to report these checks as well.

Notification
I recently used a GPS app (Waze) to visit a restaurant, but I had to return home empty-handed because it was closed. If the app asked one more time when searching for a location, "It is closed today, but would you still like to visit?", I think such wasted trips would be avoided. Is this suggestion helpful?
