Support optional "display name" specifically for Area Places
The "name" field of an Area Place serves two completely separate functions. First, it seeks to form, together with the address, a unique search hit; this could involve a lot of text. But second, it displays on the app for everyone nearby.
Most drivers probably don't care about detail in the displayed name; for them, excessive detail may distract rather than help. For example, in some countries editing conventions dictate that rest stops along freeways should have highly detailed primary names in order to make them useful search hits, such as:
"Rest Area (no facilities) - I-680 mile 58 Benicia-Martinez Bridge Vista Point (scenic view)"
This is just one example, there are many others.
Although highly detailed primary names benefit text searches, they are less useful on the display. The long text outcompetes other elements for limited driver attention and can be distracting rather than helpful.
It would be wonderful if we had the option to enter an additional "display name" for Area Places -- a name that would not interfere with the text search process, but would allow us to avoid the unwanted display impact of complex primary names.
