Clearer speed limit alerts for speed cameras and average speed zones
I would like to suggest a feature that could significantly improve driving safety and usability in Waze.
Currently, when approaching a speed camera, Waze alerts the driver about the camera, but the associated speed limit is not always clearly highlighted or immediately noticeable. It would be very helpful if the speed limit for that specific camera were displayed more prominently on the screen, making it easier for drivers to recognize it instantly.
An even more important improvement could be made for average speed control zones (Tutor systems). At the moment, the voice alert only says “You are entering a speed-controlled zone” without specifying the maximum speed allowed in that section.
It would be extremely useful if the voice guidance also announced the speed limit, for example:
“You are entering an average speed control zone – speed limit 130 km/h.”
This would allow drivers to keep their eyes on the road instead of looking at the screen to check the speed limit, improving overall road safety.
Making both the visual and voice alerts include the exact speed limit would make Waze clearer, safer, and more effective for drivers.
