Hi Waze Team and Community,

I’d like to suggest the implementation of a visual-only Permanent Hazard for traffic lights (eg. located at pedestrian crossings that are not part of an intersection or junction).

Currently, to map a traffic light, we often have to split segments to create a junction. However, on long roads with simple pedestrian crossings, "breaking" the segment can negatively impact routing data and unnecessarily complicate the map.

Having a specific "Traffic Light" hazard (similar to the "Red Light Camera" but without the enforcement/fine implication) would allow:
Better driver awareness of upcoming stops for pedestrians.
Cleaner map geometry, as we wouldn't need to create artificial intersections.
Improved ETAs, as Waze could theoretically account for a potential stop without changing the road's logic.

This would be a great "quality of life" update for editors and a safety bonus for drivers.
