Set user level using points
I've been an active user on waze for over 10 years reporting items like police cams and intermittent construction. In order to make any edits to the map requires level 3 which currently requires 5000 edits. Add an additional way to achieve higher levels based on user points. For example I have 239,582 points and it doesn't seem they are really useful for anything.

Agreed with @Zatilyx. Editor levels are to ensure you know what you're doing. While the entire community is grateful for your contributions of reporting police cams and construction, map editing, on the other hand, is a hundred times more complicated, with a lot of local community guidelines and nuances. The lock levels in the map editors are to ensure map integrity and prevent mistakes/errors that can be disastrous to the map, which drives the app, and can lead to serious consequences to millions of drivers. You're more than welcome to make edits for lower-ranked segments, editing venues, and using the Suggest an Edit feature if your level doesn't allow you to make the change. Once you gain more experience (which can only be earned by making many map edits), get to know the local community and how it works, you'll be able to advance in editor levels and potentially work on more sensitive features.

I mean, the levels are so you can make less restricted edits in the map editor. If you would be able to level up without even doing edits, that doesn’t verify that you know what you’re doing.
