I really think that an option should be added that allowed someone that used the gps on foot to select the « most secured road » instead of the fastest : choose the most frequented road, where cars ride by ; avoid the less frequented road, the dangerous roads were agressions are known to happen, … (you could even allow the victims of agression to signals the road they were attacked into to help you out). I think it would help people - and especially women - to feel safer. Maybe it could even save some lives.
