Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

An error occurred while saving the comment Fernando Estrella commentedSimilar to how you show a more permanent warning for when approaching a rail road track. At this point you should have data to know where animal crossings are (thanks to users’ reports), so you could warn drivers in a more permanent manner that this area has animals crossing. This would protect both the animals and the drivers, since drivers wouldn’t make risky, fast movements to avoid hitting animals. Drivers would slow down way before the dangerous area. We can encourage drivers to report animals sightings and roadkills so we know even more accurately where animals cross, to help protect even more animals in the future. I unfortunately witnessed a rabbit crashing into a car’s side, recently, and hoped I could have done more for it…
This goes in line with your "Permanent Hazards" new feature. In that case, you'd only need to add an option for users to report these kinds of animal crossings.
But the next best step would be that you automatically make a guess to where animal crossings are, based on user reports, and suggest users to slow down.

My take on this feature is that it could be a "Permanent Animal Crossing Warning". Since Waze already has the data to know where animals usually cross. Or it can encourage users to report it. Safer for humans and for animals.
