That’s why my husband, my two 20 yr old daughters and I don’t use the app. It’s too bad u don’t plan on adding it. I know personally >20-25 ppl who don’t use it and that’s just my small circle of friends. Yes, u have a large base of users but u would totally gain tens of thousands more if u changed it. It’s personal preference. What difference does it make to Waze whether we view it in original or satellite? It’s weird that the company is deciding for us that we don’t need it. I can’t fathom why u would oppose giving drivers their preference. And that’s why I don’t use Waze. Too bad that u guys don’t care enough abt the users to add the convenience that dozens of other nav apps have included.
I’m just reiterating the same desire as THOUSANDS of other former users. There’s so many navigation apps that have satellite view as an option but Waze refuses to let their users choose between default, satellite or a hybrid version. The users are telling u they want/need the feature and your only response is, (paraphrasing…) “we think that the users benefit more from less info on the screen, we don’t plan on going in that direction.” Which is EXACTLY WHY USERS RESPONSE IS, “…and WE don’t plan on using Waze to go in any direction.” Sad, it’s a phenomenal app. The fact that so many ppl say they want it but u refuse to offer the feature just says you’re not interested in gaining tens of thousands of other users who prefer your platform but don’t like the map view. Hopefully, more people will upvote this post. The other one I saw had thousands of replies but a handful of upvotes. Vote for it people. Once they understand what THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS SAY THEY WANT, they’ll instantly have so many more HAPPY users. TIL then, it’s Apple Maps or Google maps.
