2. Give real km distance vs destination - not straight line

   When entering the destination address please give a real distance by road and not in straight line.
   This would avoid to underestimate the time needed to reach the destination when we are just planning a travel in advance.

6. Deviation from normal route

   If traffic dictates a change from my normal route to and from work, it should make a notification. No one keeps route guidance on for their daily commute

7. Measure the waiting time of the places.

   I was thinking of an alternative to Waze that would greatly help people and consequently increase the use of the application by people. my idea is to: create a platform, a new application that works with the waze application, that shows the waiting time in certain places, for example: malls, outlets, cinemas, shops, hospitals, concerts, banks etc. Show the live timeout of a certain place that a person wants to go, so for example, I'd like to go to the bank, but I do not have much time to spend on it, so I put the address on waze and automatically the waze would show whether this bank would be full or not, how much time it would take to get there and to be served. I think it would help a lot, because we are currently worried about not getting traffic, we do not think if the place is full or something. I thought about it and I think it would be a good idea to help people using waze. Thank you

8. Navigate to Intersections

   Waze app does not accept intersections as a search destination. This is sometimes the easier choice when I'm picking someone up rather than attempting to find a house number. Please add this functionality.

9. Improved Screen Layout on Larger Screens

   Dear Waze,

   First, let me complement you on a great product. I use it almost daily.
   More importantly, you got a more meaningful compliment from Google on your great job.

   As a user of your product, please allow me some user feedback which I would hope you may implement in your product.

   Until now, I used Waze on different mobile phones.
   Recently I purchased a new car with a 7'' screen.
   After having used it, please allow me some customer feedback and suggestions for implementation relating to the way you display information on larger screens.

   Seems to me that you do not make and use of the heavy increased real estate (size of screen) you have at your disposal in most in-car display systems with 7-9'' screens.
   At the top of the screen is a black bar which is utilized by the car manufacturer for different displays such as WiFi icons etc. and the time.
   This space is not available for Waze. No worries.

   However, the remaining space is not well used at all.
   Below the black car bar not utilizable by Waze you put another black bar with your direction arrow (<-), distance (120m) and road name (461 מערב).
   But most of the black bar is unused and just wastes the heights of your map display.
   But worse than that, the size of your icons is exactly the same small size as on much smaller mobile phone displays, thus making it difficult to read the information at a glimpse (while driving).

   I therefore suggest a different organization of the screen as shown in Figure 2.
   The main screen should be divided approximately 1/3, 2/3.
   The right part with the 2/3 display should be with your Moving Map and the centered arrow showing the present location.
   Please note that in the present layout, the map display is wider. However since anyway the present location is always centered on the display, there is no benefit in the a little wider map display.
   The left part with the 1/3 display should be the re-arranged Info Window.
   The bottom bar with the Time to arrival (32min), EAT – Estimated Arrival Time (18:04), Distance to destination (14km) should remain as is.

   Please refer to Figure 3.
   The Info Window should include (from top to bottom, left to right):
   Significantly increased size indicator of upcoming turn (Left/Right Arrow) etc.
   Significantly increased size Street Name and Street Number.
   Indicator of upcoming turn (to allow selection of appropriate lane after the immediately upcoming turn). [NEW]
   Soft button () to select the Overview on the Map, displaying the complete trip from start to destination with present location (˄). [NEW]
   Speed indicator (as in your regular display).

   Following (Figure 4) please find a very rough sketch of the suggested Display (based on your actual screen).

10. WAZE navigation system could be adapted to the nation's railroad netword where it could become a new-technology Positive Train Control.

    Railroad Safety: a Ten Billion Dollar Boondoggle

    Derailments and collisions between trains are spectacular. Their economic and environmental consequences are considerable and they kill and injure people. In response, over the past forty years, pressed by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Congress the railroads have been implementing Positive Train Control (PTC) systems to reduce the potential for these crashes.
    Actually, U.S. railroads are quite safe for passengers. An average of only 5 people die in train crashes each year: slightly more than are killed in motor vehicle crashes in an hour. The number of serious injuries among train occupants is similarly low. On the other hand, nearly 700 “trespassers” die annually after being struck by trains while on or near railroad tracks and about 100 more are killed in vehicles struck by trains at grade crossings. These casualties are a consequence of two challenges: trains cannot be stopped quickly and it is difficult to keep people away from railroad tracks. PTC will do nothing for those struck by moving trains.
    The nation’s railroads and the FRA have spent about $10 billion on a variety of PTC systems and will apparently spend a few billion more to complete them. According to the FRA: “PTC systems are integrated command, control, communications, and information systems designed to prevent train accidents by controlling train movements with safety, security, precision, and efficiency.”
    Railroad transportation in the U.S. matured a century ago. Train dispatch, safety, maintenance, and such were mostly developed in the 20th century. More recent technologies are mostly used to provide an electronic substitute or enhancement of what had been done by hand. Modern communications are generally used as a substitute for the telegraph or telephones. It is an important, but hoary industry in desperate need of a 21st Century overhaul.
    Road users have the advantage of well-developed, real time, satellite-based navigation systems. There is no such unified system for railroads. Instead, the railroads are wasting their and the government’s money on ten duplicative, but not particularly compatible PTC systems that require very large numbers of expensive, high maintenance, and probably unreliable trackside sensors to monitor the position and speed of train sets. Since railroads regularly use each other’s’ tracks, this duplication is bizarre. Implementation of PTC has been delayed for years, at least in part because of the cost to complete it.
    
    The WAZE/Google navigation system provides not only information on where roads go, which can be used for trip planning, it also monitors traffic to show what the most rapid route is likely to be. It does this by monitoring, through satellite communications, the behavior of vehicles using this navigation system to determine areas of road congestion or other problems.
    
    Adapting this system to railroads would be relatively easy. WAZE/Google could substitute a map of the rail network for the road network and show the appropriate speed limit on all stretches of track as well as switch positions. This would be used to warn engineers if they are operating in a dangerous manner. In the event that an engineer ignores this warning, the receiver in the locomotive could automatically apply the train’s brakes.
    
    As with the highway system the positions and speeds all locomotives using the system, as determined using GPS, along with the positions of all switches in the system and the location of maintenance operations, could be sent through satellite to a central control where it would be monitored to determine the potential collision between trains.
    There are roughly 27,000 locomotives, some thousands of additional train sets not pulled by locomotives, and 140,000 miles of track in the United States. The cost of installing equipment to send and receive signals, for navigation, and for computer-based automatic braking would be less than $5,000 per locomotive and per switch for a total less than three hundred million dollars. (The cost of a real-time navigation system, along with automatic braking is less than $1000 per motor vehicle.) Software for adapting the highway navigation system to PTC and establishing a central control to warn of collisions would cost less than $100 million. Thus, an estimate of well under a billion dollars for all of the PTC hardware and software to implement a new, navigation-based PTC system seems reasonable. This is considerably less than the cost of completing the current PTC systems and could be paid by a consortium of railroads. If the will were there, it should not take more than about a year to implement this new system.
    A modern PTC could also become a basis for a more modern approach to railroad scheduling and management that could reduce costs and ensure more efficient use of the rail network. It could replace the current, antiquated, inefficient block system for regulating the use of rails. Because of industry competition and anti-trust considerations, it may require Congressional action to force national cooperation in establishing a unified 21st Century PTC system.
    The current approach to railroad safety is out of date and makes little sense. It lacks a rational connection with the reality of how most people are killed and injured in connection with railroads and the availability of effective technology. It results in ridiculous spending on what, at least in terms of human losses, is a relatively minor problem.
    PTC based on the technologies used for road navigation could substantially reduce human, equipment, and other losses from collisions and derailments. These savings would be sufficient to pay for the 21st century system based on the Google navigation system. It would also be an excellent business opportunity for WAZE/Google. The fact that billions have already been invested in PTC is irrelevant to the question of how the railroads should proceed with PTC. It must abandon the current wasteful development and start with a fresh approach as outlined herein.

11. Stop the pop up

    I have recently been getting a pop up box to agree to terms every time I use waze, I drive for lyft and find this extremely annoying as I have an account and once should be enough

12. Add Czech Republic vignette pass like Austria or Slovakia

    Add Czech Republic vignette like Austria or Slovakia.
    It could be great to specify end date of Vignette. This could be separate menu to put then like "badges" or card/ticket/pass application

13. Route quality

    Currently in view of waze, the only criteria for chosing best routes us its being aaphelt, sand or .... . But there is no croteeia for evaluating the quality of roads and their asphelts.
    I propose to add the 3 to 5 level for roads quality then, let us to select the tick of levels for choosing best rout.

15. Waze Airport Map

    Produce Waze Maps for airports denoting whole airport & parking, hotels, even EVchargers etc for Public use.
    Compete, bid for Airport complexMaps.
    No one else does.
    Use HDTV for Visual Map fixed display with U ARE HERE logo.
    Map can have audio speakers & speak say 10 languages??
    For airports like SFO, LAX in CA alone.
    EZ to read, relate, usable, updatable IE airport construction.
    Needed.
    More $$$$ for Waze.

16. Once car stops very near location, turn off map and STOP giving voice directions. Obviously I've arrived already!

    I arrive to my work building's parking lot and then park my car. Waze doesn't get the hint that I've arrived and the map is still on. It's obvious I arrived and waze needs to stop. I can't tell you how many times I've been embarrassed by waze in the office when I'm trying to sneak into my desk and think I've made a clean entry and Waze randomly goes: IN 100 FEET TURN LEFT ON.... Seriously? 5 minutes after I parked!?!? Stfu Waze goddamit!

17. Información en pantalla ante accidentes

    Cuando se presione el auto en la pantalla, se despliegue un cuadro de información con:

    1) calle/numero/localidad.
    2) comisaria (estación de policía) mas cercana (con la posibilidad de
    seleccionarlo como destino).
    3) hospital mas cercano (con la posibilidad de seleccionarlo como
    destino).

    Eso seria muy útil en caso de accidente y es similar a lo que hace el software de Garmin.

18. Removing (or adding a warning to) Restaurants in Military Bases

    During a road trip in California a few weeks back, I was driving on CA route 1 and searched for restaurants near my location. A cafe called “Flightline Café” appeared first on the list, and I started the Waze navigation. As it turned out, Flightline Café was actually a military establishment located on an US military base, which the security guard politely informed me when I pulled up to the gate. Luckily, the guard was understanding enough of my situation to let me off with a warning and point me to another restaurant a short distance away. Of course, this encounter was partly my mistake, as there were several signs in front of the military base informing me that I was entering government property. For the sake of other Waze users, however, I would suggest removing this restaurant completely from the database, or at least including a warning.

19. Proposer l'arrivée à proximité et de l'autre côté de la rue

    Il semble qu'actuellement Waze nous guide jusqu'à l'adresse indiquée, y compris du bon côté de la rue. (Par exemple il va nous guider jusqu'au 15 de la rue même si on aurait pu aller au 16 qui est en face en parcourant 1 km de moins).
    Si on ne peut pas faire demi tour dans cette rue, le parcourt suggéré par Waze est parfois allongé inutilement car il veut absolument nous faire arriver du bon côté de la rue. Il faudrait ajouter une option pour que Waze nous guide 'a proximité', avec une distance règlable (ex : 200m) et Waze nous emmènerait là où il y a des chances de pouvoir se garer à proximité du point choisi et là où c'est le plus rapide d'aller.

    Il semble qu'actuellement Waze nous guide jusqu'à l'adresse indiquée, y compris du bon côté de la rue. (Par exemple il va nous guider jusqu'au 15 de la rue même si on aurait pu aller au 16 qui est en face en parcourant 1 km de moins).
    Si on ne peut pas faire demi tour dans cette rue, le parcourt suggéré par Waze est parfois allongé inutilement car il veut absolument nous faire arriver du bon côté de la rue. Il faudrait ajouter une option pour que Waze nous guide 'a proximité', avec une distance règlable (ex : 200m) et Waze… more

20. add option for voice navigation

    In voice navigation, you can add new option that can integrate with text to speech that instal on android device, like google talkback. If you can integrate with espeak text to speech, voice navigation can read street names and all guides in 79 languages.
