Quick route cancellation
To be able to click cancel route in one click. A few versions back there was an "x" in top right corner to cancel route. Now you have to go to sleep mode, wake up and cancel. Any way to go back to "x"?

Route info for drivers eligible for the Commute (HOV) lane.
When giving route info do you take into consideration wether commuters are eligible to use the commute (HOV) lane. Some commute lanes require 2 or 3 persons per vehicle. We were traveling form Palm Springs to Redwood City, California, and were diverted to an alternate route because of traffic conditions. We were not sure if the commute lanes
were also full.4 votesThank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

Create individual icons for fast ID
Create individual icons for fast recognition:
•Hidden police wear sunglasses & just an outline for unmarked police car
•Cloud for fog
•Shovel for construction
•Black dot for pothole
•Icicle for road ice
•Tombstone for roadkill
•Bicycle for bike on roadway
•Indicate why traffic is slow w/tow truck icon for accident, lightbulb for traffic light malfunction & "strobe" light for misc-red for EMS, blue for utility work, etc.4 votes -

Disabling phone auto-rotate should help.

Indicate the speed limit on each portion in addition to the speedometer. Indicate the time or the last wazer to borrow the same road.
Save favorite places on the internet account, it avoids recreating when changing phone.

Related to battery life/forgetting to turn off the app. Allow a setting to disable the gps function when on battery for X minutes
I know there is a menu option to turn off the app, but it's easy to forget especially when you get to your destination and want to get out of the car in a hurry. Let the user decide how long he wants the app to run when on battery...then turn off the gps and do a popup allowing the user to turn the gps back on

Search icon instead of voice
Modern versions of Android have a voice input option on the virtual keyboard itself. Basic UI guidelines should dictate the icon where the voice-entry button is at the end of text input fields should do the action (search) not bring up voice input.
Move the voice icon lower and bigger for users who are driving, and make the button beside the input window the search button (as 'enter' currently does on the keyboard).

More features on-screen when tapped
One of the features I love about my "real" GPS is that I can just tap the screen to begin navigation. Make navigate, report, and other icons all available immediately when I tap on the screen, instead of just the zoom icons.

Better ETA calculations.
For some reason the ETA predictions by WAZE are way off. One example was at the start of my trip it predicted I would arrive around 10:30pm (this was at 8:30am). This figure remained constant until I was 2/3rds of the way there, when it got a little more accurate, but still 4 hours off. I actually arrived at 2:30pm.

Add ability to route via a gas station
Of all the POIs out there, gas stations are the most important. Waze should be able to incorporate a gas station stop into its directions. It should also be possible for users to report the location of gas stations from the app.

Voice Navigation "And Then"
When I need to turn right and then immediately turn left, the voice navigation should tell me "Turn Right and then Turn Left," instead of "Turn Right" and once I do say "Turn Left," so that I can prepare for the immediate turn.

"display off" mode
I'm driving a motorbike and I'm generally wazing to update map and / or inform the other wazers about the traffic on the road. So, my phone is in my pocket... It would be great if Waze could do that with the display of my phone off...

View map on mobile to select point on map, law enforcement
Similar to Google Maps interface, in which I can pin a point on the mobile app and start navigation on Android Auto. I frequently use Waze to safely navigate to reported accidents, debris and disabled vehicles. Waze reports are significantly more location-accurate than my dispatcher saying "Respond to the area of Exit 45 for a crash." Before the last update, I could force stop Waze on my phone, reopen the app to the map, pin a location next to the incident and start navigation, then reopen the app on Android Auto to navigate. Can't listen to radio and use Waze if I have bluetooth
Please, give me a way to have my phone connected to my car's bluetooth, listen to the radio, AND hear Waze prompts through my phone's audio! Apparently you used to have a "Prefer Bluetooth" toggle that I could turn off, but it doesn't exist in the version I have. Why would you get rid of this? Now my choices are silence from Waze while I listen to the radio, dead silence in the car until I get a Waze prompt, or turn off Bluetooth completely so that Waze will play through my phone speakers.

Email address change
Currently isn’t possible to change the email address, but the user could have an issue if the email address is no longer available and the account is gong to be recovered and the user doesn’t remind the password.
My suggestion is that Waze permits that the user be able to change the email address after a validation (similar when the mobile number is changed).

I want waze to pause music or podcast and not talk over it like it used to. Why did they not keep that option?
Before the latest update when waze spoke and you're listening to music or a podcast, it would pause the music and then speak. Now that is no an option. Now it talks over the music. Very annoying. Please bring back that option. Thanks.
