Location services
Under Locations in our phones Waze has to be set to Always or Never while apps such as Maps and Lyft has the choices of Never or While Using. I think waze should also only use or location services while we are using the app. We don't need Waze to be tracking our location and wasting our battery every second of the day but only while we are using the app. This can obviously be made possible. If Maps and Lyft allows us this common sense option, then Waze should too.

Furthermore to all comments relating to this request, when settings are set to "always" it eats up a LOT of data on the cellphone plans. I started using Waze again in the last 2 month and each time i wish to use Waze, I have to go into the settings, change from "never" to "always", use Waze app, then turn off the settings again after. I've had Waze for over 2 years and after this past month, I remembered why I stopped using it.

I have stopped using the app when i realized this was always ON.
Big NO for me... Really like waze, but this is a turn off for me...

I stopped using the app after I noticed this, and if they are not going to change this setting, I will not use it again, and advise friends to stop using it, as well!

Reputable apps offer the choice to use location services "always", "never", and "while I am using the app". Waze does not offer "while I am using the app". This makes me assume that Waze is up to no good. If my choice is "always" or "never", I choose never.
