Route away from schools at pickup & dropoff time
We've been noticing an increasing amount of Waze traffic near our local elementary school. It is dangerous for the kids who are biking to school (and not yet as reliable as adults) -- we have had three kids hit by cars in our small city so far this year. And I'm sure it is annoying for drivers -- we've seen a lot of folks swerving around slow cars etc.
I would love to be able to tell Waze the pickup and dropoff windows for our school, and have it automatically route away from the school (and ideally nearby streets).
Maybe use the FHA road classifications for school safe and bike safe roads to know which roads to route away from.

Yes, this is a great idea. I live in Mountain View at the Springer Elementary school crossing walk. Everyday I see so many cars and trucks race through this intersection (many with 1 driver, commuter) during the rush hour in the morning and the evening. Even though the posted speed limited is 15MPH many of these drivers go as fast as possible (sometime driving in the bike lane or center divided lane). Waze maps provide this route to commuters to take short-cuts rather than the highways and safer routes. Would be great to have a way to include these schools in the routes. Also, the google cars drive through every day and automatically follow the speed limits. Would be cool if Waze could limit the route flows based on speed limits that that the fastest speeder. We had a pedestrian death last week in Mtn View and another in Palo Alto. The traffic load is growing and safety needs to be a priority for the drivers and the corporations providing the information (encouraging these drivers to speed). thanks

Waze took me through a school zone with traffic barely moving when it was obviously better to go my usual route. I have deleted the app twice because of this very reason. I've been lead into traffic more than once when there was clearly a side street to get around it. What is going on?
