There is an alarming trend among drivers that do not obey speed limit laws and less law enforcement to enforce those laws. As a result, human and wildlife collisions are on the rise. This, in turn, leads to increased insurance premiums for the rest of us.
Google's platform and AI capabilities could easily solve staffing issues at local police stations by aggregating reports of reckless drivers by Waze users and then identify hotspots for police to perform traffic safety checks.
These data points could also provide counties with justification to raise traffic citation fees and other penalties, which could be a source of additional revenue.
