Routine Commute Advance Monitoring and Warning
I have a couple of routine, weekday commutes, to and from work. I think it would be beneficial if I could plug in my routine, target arrival times and monitor my commute in advance of my departure. For example, if I need to arrive at home by 6 to pick up kids for a typical 35 minute commute it would start monitoring my commute 1.5 hours or so ahead. If there is a significant delay it would notify me in advance of my typical departure to pay attention early to the commute. I think this would be beneficial in cases of routine commutes when people (often parents) need to arrive at a place at a regular time.
For a morning Home to Work commute this would also be helpful to give people warning to quicken their departure from home if traffic starts bunching up earlier than normal.

I always take the same route to and from work. It'd be good if Waze could remember this and warn me (e.g. push notification) if there's anything unusual along the way like construction, accidents, speed cams, etc. I don't need to open Waze otherwise.
