Please REMOVE the SPEEDOMETER and Show the posted SPEED LIMIT instead!
I usually type long long long posts, but the title of this speaks for itself. Just a couple more details below.....
Nokia had a GPS app called HERE Drive. It showed you what speed you were going and what the posted speed limit of the road was. Very handy.
The release of Windows 10 has caused the HERE Drive app to be deleted and replaced with Windows Maps. Some of it the same and some different, but everything good was taken away. Windows Maps is horrible, and many people are now looking to choose a new app for navigation.
Waze has a lot going for it. A big issue is that it doesn't have a satellite map overlay view. I'm sure that they are aware of that and working to fix it.
What other GPS apps don't have that they should is a display that shows what the posted speed limit of the road being traveled on is. When have you ever seen a speed limit sign when you needed one? How much time have you wasted going below the actual speed limit because you didn't want to get a ticket?
Waze already has a feature called "Speedometer". When you use Waze, if you have it on it shows you how fast you are moving. That is so stupid. Your car has a speedometer! You don't need the app to tell you your speed, and it isn't even accurate! Maybe joggers or bicyclists find it handy, but the reading of the Waze Speedometer is never the same as the Speedometer of my car. It is a pointless feature.
Instead Waze should fill the void that HERE Drive for Windows phones ones filled, and provide those searching for a new GPS provider the only feature besides satellite view that they lack. PLEASE Waze, remove the speedometer and replace it with a display that shows what the posted speed limit of the road being traveled is.
I have to point out that Waze already has a feature that warns you if you are traveling at a speed faster than the posted limit. You can already set it to alert you if you are traveling 3mph over or 15mph over. The Waze app ALREADY KNOWS what the posted speed limit of the road is! They just don't display it on the app!!!!! It would be such an easy update!!!! Help me let Waze know that we want this!

This is NOT available so not sure why it is marked that it is? As others have stated, my car has a speedometer so I don’t need a second one; however, I DO need to know the speed limit. Not having the option to turn off the speedometer is very frustrating. I am considering going back to Apple Maps just for this reason.

Strongly disagree. My classic car is 50+ years old so I don't trust the Speedo. Plus, my Speedo is in mph but Aust. is metric ie km/h. Very low tolerance here for over the speed limit and expensive fines. PLUS I find sometimes the speed limit on the app does match the actual speed limit on the road. Those are the reasons I installed the app in the first place.

How is this marked as "now available" when it's not?

I FULLY AGREE - PLEASE REMOVE THE SPEEDOMETER and make the SPEED LIMIT LARGER for us older drivers. My car has a speedometer so I don't need another one which takes up valuable space on the WAZE screen. Making the SPEED LIMIT larger would be a blessing!

The Waze app shows the speed for the road you are travelling on. so i don"t understand what you are going on about.

I love that feature. Sorry

For certain cars the speed is reported inaccurately on the vehicle side. So I decided to turn off the speedometer but doing that turns off the speed limit sign. My car has a digital speedometer so I don’t need Waze telling me my speed but I would like to still see what the speed limit is. So flip a switch somewhere that would allow to still see the speed limit sign even when the digital speedometer is turned off.
Also, maybe find a way to bypass the vehicle talking to waze about the speed of the vehicle and rely on GPS data instead. Like add some extra CarPlay settings that allow the user to decide where the speed data comes from.

Agree!!! It is annoying and unnecessary. It should be optional. Speed limits are fine!

please remove the speedometer and show speed limit instead. while on the road, we need to be able to find speed limit at any point at a glance.

Remove the speedometer. It should be an option like it use to be - and not automatic on the app when you don't want it. We should be able to fully customize the app to our needs - not to what Waze thinks we all need.

I agree, the speedo is a complete waste of time and quite annoying. But the speed limit should remain

Agreed. Get rid of the speedometer reading. Plus the posted speed limit icon is much smaller now.

I agree this. It’s not hard to make option what make possible to show only speed limit and as bigger as Speedometer. Why it take so long to make simple change to Waze?

Oh joy, a feature request plagued with grammatical mistakes and lies. Leave the internet forever Dylan Cole, you’re a moron.

Totally agree. Should be able to setup with with no speedometer and with speed limit big enough to read at a glance.

You can set a notification that tells you when you have reached the speed limit. Also once you are going 1mph over the speed limit it will tell you the speed limit and your speed in the same window. You can set the notification to sound or vibrate or both and you can have it customized to alert you at any speed (for instance 5mph below or 5 mph over or have it sound when you hit the actual limit.)

I totally disagree. I live it, because not all car's speedometer are created equally. Plus, if I have to use some else's vehicle and the speedometer doesn't work or at least not correctly = expensive ticket. It's happened to me. Or, say said truck owner decided the wanted oversized off road tires, (or smaller clown tires or it could be a car as well people are doing stupid stuff to cars these days) well now the speedometer has to be recalibrated or it's completely wrong. Even a small change in tire size can change this. Most people never even think about it. Plus, the gps is usually at least as accurate, if not more.

Totally agree. For me it is the size of the Speed Limit also. When the Speedometer pops up, the speed limit gets smaller, and I can't read it.. I have a speedometer in my car already. While it is a fine option if someone wants it on the Waze screen, I'd prefer to turn off the speedometer, but leave the Speed Limit in its larger size.. Please.. ;-)

Disagree, my waze speedometer is more accurate than my car speedometer. I drive three different cars all are off by different amounts. Had one car checked recently and the waze speedometer was correct (the car was 4mph off).

While we can already tell it to show the speed limit, it's a tiny icon in the corner of the useless speedometer. If you turn the speedometer off, the speed limit disappears too. Why can't I hide the speedometer and show just the speed limit? And hide the alerts, I can police my own speed, I just like knowing what speed limit I should be aiming for.
