Alternate Route
Very frustrating when Waze updates the route with a bunch of turns, including a few difficult left turns, and it results in a time savings of a minute or two. Sometimes it doesnt save any time at all. I suggest an option were you can choose a time savings minimum before waze will take you off your current route. For example I would prefer to stay on my current, more direct route, unless a time savings of 5 min is available then please change my route.
Thanks

User preference required to set time saved by re-routing off main roads. Suggest 5 minutes or 10% of journey time.

we should have the ability to specify a tolerance (amount in minutes) to allow waze to search for a route that favors closer to the speed limit, that way we don't need to be sitting in traffic, sometimes when I try an alternative path, it might just be 1-2 minutes extra, and I don't have to sit in traffic anymore, significantly decreasing wear on the car, and stress on the driver!

I would vote for that option too but I think one should be more precise on how to achieve the alternate route options: Maybe waze should take speed limits and traffic lights into account.
So options should be:
1. Use shortest route
2. Use waze's traditional routing model for fastest route (long time average of segment travel time)
3. Use new routing model based on infos editable on map (speed limit, traffic light average delay)
4. Use user's segment heat map (segments which a user took more often are given priority).Should I post this as a new idea?
3. Use -

O atenção a quê? Etc... E se há acidente onde é? E não ter k percorrer mapa com dedo até chegar ao acidente por ex, para ver onde é!
Acho k são sugestões úteis que fazem falta!
Obrigada

I was recently stuck in traffic on the motorway/freeway and tried the suggest routes option. I needed it to tell me how long it would take to come off and use the smaller roads or stay on the road. Instead it gave me some possible route options that began ten miles away. An option like this would help when trying to navigate crashes / traffic jams.

Allow user to define the alternate route by time. E.g. if it is less then 15 minute saving use current route, if it is more then 15 minutes the make a suggestIon to the navigation choices. The idea here is if the advantage is only 5 minutes keep the route chosen. So the user can set that threshold 5,10,15,20 minutes reroute option.

Only send a reroute if it’s 5min quicker minimal.
Waze reroutes even if it’s 1min difference. Sometimes causing a longer route or unnecessary reroute. -

For daily commute, I want to take my normal, preferred route unless there is an alternate route that is XX minutes faster. XX should be a variable settable by the user. For instance, I have a 30-minute commute each morning and I DO NOT want to take an alternate route if it is only a minute or two faster than my preferred route. Therefore, I’ll set the variable to 5 minutes and unless there is an alternate route that is more than 5 minutes faster, then Waze will always take me on my normal and preferred route. It is a real pain to check Waze for my preferred route every morning only to find that it is simply a couple of minutes longer than some obscure route that I don’t want to take.

Je partage cette idée.
Faisant du covoiturage avec BlaBlaCar, cela permettrait de préparer l'itinéraire avec toutes les étapes avant de partir. -

Allow an option for waze to give the shorter route when a faster route saves only a small amount of time, say, 5 minutes. This way difficult routes with many turns are avoided.

Waze thinks I take the freeway to work everyday and finds carpools that match that route. Unfortunately I cut across the mountain and avoid freeway traffic and I’d like to see carpoolers on that route. I have a 2 hour commute each way so I start early. It routes me on the faster route( by minutes) but by the time I get to the highway it has backed up and now takes 30-50 mins longer. I would like Waze to recognize the route I take everyday (with 40000) others and offer that morning route. You know when I drop off my daughter at weekend practice and give me a heads up and also church on Sunday. Why can’t you tell where I go 5 days a week and give that route. AT LEAST AS AN OPTION Thanks

Suggest for example if i'm willing to spend 3 additional km to save 1 minute. Sometimes waze makes me ride a huge additional distance to save 1 or 2 minutes. It doesn't pay!

Waze tends to prefer routes for which it has no information on congestion to known reliable but congested routes. This leads you to use convoluted back roads that can have more congestion and stops that the known route, turning a theoretical savings of a few minutes into an actual loss of time and sanity.
Wake should give priority to routes for which it has enough information and indicate on the alternative routes how much information is it really relying on. A theoretical saving of a couple of minutes is not worth the added aggravation.
At the very least an "Aggravation Threshold" should be configurable in the app.

Español: Luego de elegir la ruta, sucede que al avanzar en el camino, al actualizar las posibilidades nuevamente, las opciones cambian. Creo que esa búsqueda debe ser permanente y no de forma manual (cada x cantidad de Km o cierto tiempo).
English: After choosing the route, it happens that when advancing in the way, when updating the possibilities again, the options change. I think that search must be all the time and not manually (every x amount of Km or a certain time).

Sometimes waze changes my preferred route for another (probably unknown), which is just seconds faster. In that case, i would like to set Waze to warn me about faster routes, only when it save me an minimum amount of time specified by me.
In other words (example): Waze, show me a faster route only when i save more than 10 minutes. -

Waze is of course great to avoid traffic.
However, sometimes, especially in cities, it does a too good of a job.
Waze has a tendency to send you on a "wild" ride in the city, with lot's of twists and turns. I appreciate that it saved me an extra minutes, but would have been glad for a slightly slower route, with less twists.
Waze *can* get me a little nauseous at times in the city... -

Before sending me off the highway on a full of turns and small streets journey, is should mention like in google what is the estimated change would be if i take this route vs. other possible routes. I prefer not to save 1 min and stay on the highway for example, but I don't know how much time I will save following the other route.

Traffic situation on the roads is sometimes changes fast and when the user is getting close to an intersection of roads (where alternative path maybe taken) and have to select which one to take according to the previous waze selection - it may already be outdated. I would propose that the application will detect such situation and recalculate the ride time again and present a message similar to the following: "Alternative road XXX with take X minutes less"

Maybe the code could have a conditional statement that says that when a car is less than a mile from the reroute then it does not reroute the driver. It is very difficult to move through certain types of traffic to make the adjustments of the reroute, so this would avoid the hassle of trying to get over or possibly causing an accident trying to adjust to the new route.
