Account recovery not a new account
How about when a user gets a new phone or their phone crashes (both scenarios keep original Waze account phone number) an account reset or recovery option? You know, one that does NOT create a new account and informs you afterwards that you just hosed yourself because now you will never get your account back. I'm not so worried about the "points" I lost, it's my user name that still shows up as a user that I can no longer access. It's great you guys gobbled up Waze, how about raising your standards to that of the original company?

This is a much needed feature for all users as we change our smart devices every few years. I am one of those people two accounts second one I accidentally deleted mine it has just happened to me this morning while contributing to the map build and updates, I’ve now lost everything due to accidentally leaning on my keyboard while having my coffee.
And my first account I cannot remember my login password or email, I know the username but I cannot login using that or send a password reset.
I’d love to be able to get my account I lost this morning back over 35 map contributions in my local area in less than a year all gone and nearly 3,000 points and very close to driving the 1,000 miles needed to unlock. More stuff.
Please add an account recovery option. 😀

I have used Waze on and off for the last 5 years and each time I have had to create a profile losing my scoreboard and everything along with it. Surprisingly, the site allows me to use the email I continuously sign-up with without a problem or duplication. I guess my suggestion is to have a better system for profile recovery by maybe sending a email warning of deactivation to give the user a chance to continue/discontinue use of the system.

I have an iPhone and recently had to replace my phone due to touch disease. I backed up my waze to the cloud and enabled the iOS cloud login so that I wouldn't have any issues according to the support section. Imagine my surprise when that didn't work at all and now it's asking for username and password, and I remember the username, but haven't used a password in years and have numerous email accounts and used every one of them for email pw reset, and received no emails. Now I'm stuck with either starting over with Waze and over the years trying to build my way back to where I was, or going to apple maps. I'm going with apple maps because in 2017, it's a bit disappointing that my username is now stored in a database with all my info, but I can't access it because I can't remember a password from years ago.

Allow those who are having logon trouble recover their username/password using the confirmation code they got when they first signed up.

Suppose WAZE crashed for several months on an iPhone. Suppose also that when it finally began working the account recover options to my account are not working. Suppose also that the FAQ entries for account recovery do not help even after each option has been tried.
Finally, even if my king status is lost forever, why cannot I get back my account name? Can WAZE actually added account resolution steps for account recover needs? It is not as though I cannot prove who I am. It is that your system knows my account exists and none the recover options work.
What then? Can WAZE help?
