Call or text a friend before pickup
a feature that lets you mark contacts as friends you're picking up, maybe save their addresses.
and 5 minutes before reaching the destination to pick up the friend
Send an auto text saying something like "hey it's waze, name will pick up you up in 5 minutes, (s)he's driving a black toyota"
And by 2 minutes before, suggest to call that friend, or auto call to let him/her know that you're out, waiting.
All of this planned when starting off the navigation, and without touching the phone.

Also, when you started driving it could text your friend "*name* is on the way to pick you up"
