Get a list of directions for a given route.
Sometimes it's hard to evaluate a route choice from the descriptions. It would be great if a route could be listed in text (one line per step) so that the route options could be evaluated more easily.

I second this request. A big font text stype listing of directions is a standard feature in most GPS apps and an option I find extremely useful.
