Heads up Display (HUD)

make an heads up display icon so that the user can place it on their dash and the reflection will show up on the windshield.. for night time driving whee it is safer to stare closer to the road versus looking down...other apps use this idea but they dont have the GPS ability..it will set waze apart from all other GPS systems..and make it look extra cool!

    HUD mode means that you can see waze in the car windshield.

    I believe that some people like me would like to see waze in the windshield!
    Well, some apps are doing this already but waze functionalities are unbeatable until now...so, why not put a HUD Mode on this app? Can you imagine drive at night with the waze information directly on the windshield?
    I would like to suggest a mode where the waze become more clean, simple (only the minimum necessary information on the shield) and vital to drive during the night...it could be like a projector...or a mirror...if we could have just a mirror screen today...it would be a start point!

    Would it be possible to integrate waze with Garmins HUD so that waze could send directions to the HUD device via Bluetooth

    Develop HUD upgrade so we do not need to change our attention into looking somewhere else to see directions.

    There's already an app called HUDWay. However, I'm a Waze loyalist. I wish Waze will workout a HUD version.

    if you make the display reversible, I would place the phone on my dashboard to make a reflection in the window, creating a heads up display.

    Would be a great idea. I have used a HUD to show speed altitude etc which worked fine.

    Per, it does work, I already use Waze on my windscreen and the only thing that bothers me are the reversed directions. I think that change would be great!

    I don't think it would work.
    Because the windscreen is doubble-layer and that will result in a doubble image of the map.
    So it's wery hard to see the image clear.
    It's like watching a 3D-movie without the googles...

    Definitely a great idea. Not sure if local laws allow it but I place mine on the dash at night for that purpose. Would be nice if we didn't have to remember left is right and right is left. This would be a big plus for WAZE!!!

    I had the same idea and I think this would be an awesome feature.
    The HUD should be able to only display the next turn. with a full screen display of the turn.
