Rest Stop information
Could you either add rest stops, or allow us to report rest stops, as well as distance to the next one as reported/displayed?

I'd like WAZE to have the option to display how far it is to the next rest stop so I know if I need to get off at the next exit and go to a gas station or go on to the nearest rest area. Going to a rest area always seems so much faster and easier.
Sometimes I'm driving a motor home and a rest area is just much easier to navigate than some gas stations or fast food restaurants.

So I'm curious as to why you have a Uservoice Forum but you don't seem to act on suggestions?
This was suggested almost eight years ago and still hasn't been integrated into the app.

also with the current pandemic local stores and restaurants are closed to customers who want to come, so when traveling sometimes the rest stop is the only place you can use a restroom

I'd like to see a feature added which would notify the user when a rest area was within 5 or do miles ahead on the route or highway you're travelling. Rest areas are already marked in the Waze app, but a "near" notification at the top of the display would be very handy for the traveller. It should also be available in Android Auto or Apple Car Play.

This would be great, having a standalone rest stop category with facility options (toilets, showers, undercover, etc) as well as any restrictions (truck only, car only, etc) could then be combined with an in app option to "Find nears rest stop, include X feature" or have an on screen indicator that shows the rest stop and its features on map.
Next to finding where to go ... finding somewhere to stop along the way can be equally important at times.

Itd be great in the settings under MAP DISPLAY to have an option to turn on/off a REST AREA ICON on your route maps. Then when you click on the rest area it will pop up with the exit number, a shortcut to add a stop on your route.
then also be able to rate the rest area for cleanliness, safety, parking, vending etc... -

Yes, Garmin has this and I would love it on Waze. Especially Crowdsourced info

How far the next exit is and what is there such as Gas, Food, Lodging and Attractions, etc similar to the blue signs on the highway.
It also helps to have how far the PREVIOUS exit was in case you need to return on foot from a car break down...

Yes, please add road side parks/rest areas to the maps. I know they won't pay for advertising but this would be a great public service for people on road trips.

Depending on the country, doesn't have to be a fully-blown service area. On the German Autobahns, there are service areas or the so called parking areas which are just a place to pull over, sometimes with toilet, sometimes with nothing.
So please show something like:Shell Service Area (Burger King) ---- 7m
Parking (WC) -----14 m
Parking ------ 25 m
BP service Area ---- 35 m -

why is it such a secret where the next rest area is? Put them on the maps already.

This would be really helpful. Populate the entire map system with these and this could be a set up like gas stations and restaurants.

It would be great if Waze added a search button for rest stops & public restrooms like they already do for "coffee" and gas. This would be helpful for all commuters. Because if you did a survey, to determine the high percentage of gas stations and mini marts that have an "out of order" sign posted, you would be shocked.
And perhaps Waze users could drop a "pin" or flag a business that allows Waze users, access to their public restroom (including hours of operation to said accessible restroom. For instance my local STARBUCKS list it's hours of operations M-Sun, open till 1am. But only the drive through is open till 1am, the main establishment locks the doors to enter at 10pm.)
These suggestions are a win/win situation, providing free positive advertising, driving customers to their business and creating loyal clientele for said businesses who let Waze drivers use their restrooms!
