The map should be able to display on the phone, even if CarPlay is active
Please can there be the option of keeping navigation running on the phone screen, even if CarPlay is enabled. CarPlay Display Units are often down low (where car radios used to be), and looking at that as your satnav is dangerous and distracting. Keeping the map on the phone will enable safer driving and a happier Apple and Waze customer base

Same is true for Android Auto users.
The phone is mounted higher than the dash display, closer to eye level and easier to tap.
The ability to switch instantly between the map view and turn-by-turn was very useful and worked for years - why take away a user-driven feature?In some areas, we have multiple intersections in very close proximity and signage is sketchy... the map is far more effective in showing the correct route, where turn-by-turn does not clarify which corner is the one I need.
