Why doesnt the app offer to automatically send you your map data monthly? (period controllable in a setting)

I wanted to know about a journey I did only 4 months ago but it looks like waze has deleted that data. I feel frustrated because it feels like it is my data!
So... Why doesnt the app offer to automatically send you your map data monthly? (period controllable in a setting)
