Slow down & move over warning for Emergeny Responders
Warn motorists of Emergency Responders (police cars, tow trucks, ambulances) with a Slow Down Move Over warning. Lives are being lost at alarming rates and any support of the move over laws are greatly appreciated.

This is only a part of the solution, but if this will help save lives it is a NECESSARY part. Myself, my family members, and my employees lives are at stake as well as all the other tow/recovery operators, first responders, highway workers, and many, many others. PLEASE add this to your app.

MakeWay Safety currently partners with Waze to alert motorists that emergency vehicles are stopped on the side of the road, which supports the "Slow Down and Move Over" initiatives across our country focused on saving the lives of First Responders on the scene of a roadside incident. Our hardware and software is installed in an emergency vehicle, which is connected to our cloud platform that transmits an alert to Waze and other navigation & alerting platforms as soon as emergency lights are activated. Currently Waze reports only on stopped or slow moving vehicles. We need this to be an audible alert every time an emergency vehicle is on scene at an incident alerting drivers to "Slow Down and Move Over" to make way for our First Responders to live.
Our technology also has the capability to alert motorists of emergency vehicles that are responding to a call and moving through traffic at higher speeds, but this will require our data feed with Waze to be updated in real-time to alert drivers as they approach intersections or that are in the path of an emergency vehicle. As First Responders implement our technology, Waze receives a validated emergency vehicle alert from an authorized emergency agency (Fire, Police, EMS, DOT or others authorized like a tow truck on an accident scene or on the roadway to tow a vehicle). Waze can be the leader in Public Safety by fully implementing this technology with partners like MakeWay Safety.

Thank you everyone for not letting this go. Please know you are so appreciated. Still no contact from Waze saying anything one way or another. Not sure how long til the suggestion drops off yet know we will continue to fight to get this added and I know you completely understand why. If it were your brother, father, mother, sister....any relative you care about that works on the white line and takes the chance with their lives to rescue other peoples loved ones from the side of the road, I know you would be all over it working it out to make this possible. Thank you for all your time and effort in this. =)

Tow Truck Alerts would be pretty awesome!

Please include all responders from Tow Trucks to Fire working on the shoulder. Too many drivers are more worried about their phone than focusing on driving!
