Most of the time, we drive for many Miles / KM with no change, and this screen remains on for a long time-wasting our battery + burning the screen (which happened to me with two devices already) + it prevents us from touching the phone every second, safety first!
My suggestion is to add the remaining KM / Miles to the "Always on display" screen (the feature that shows the time and date when the screen is off), which most of the smartphones have already, a small line of text that shows only the remaining KM / Miles + name of street/road.
