Add 'beep only' option to the sound options
I now have the options: no sound / alerts only / sound on. I'd like a quiet mode, but I don't want to miss navigation cues. A beep only mode would be nice.

It would nice to have a sound option between "alerts only" and "voice" where an attention sound is played before an upcoming turn.
So instead of having a chatty "voice" on all the time, the attention sound would alert the user to look at the screen and take note of the upcoming navigation prompt.

It would be nice to implement a function that allows me to be alertet by a beeping noise or something everytime I need to take a turn. It would work simular to the Audio Description of the Navigation, but rather than distracting me by talking to me 5 times per turn, it would just beep once everytime I need to look where to drive next.

This was suggested in 2016! Anyone I’ve ever told this idea to thinks it’s needed.

This would also be useful on long drives. A tone to let you know a turn or exit is coming, without the multiple long voice interruptions.

Hi Waze,
I have a good idea for your app. Personally, I find it quite annoying to have the sound on, because the navigation talks too much. But since I also don’t want to miss my exit on the highway while on vacation, I thought it would be a great idea to have an option where, whenever you need to take action (e.g. exit the highway), you simply hear a beep.
This beep would let you know that you should take a quick look at the screen. Of course, it’s important that it’s not an annoying beep, but rather a friendly sound.

When I'm approaching a speed trap, the voice alert is too long and repetitive. It plays over and over without pausing the podcast, so I often miss parts of what I'm listening to and have to rewind.
It would be great to have an option to disable the lengthy "educational" message and keep only a short sound notification, like a simple beep. -

Minimalistic version of Voice navigation alerts? In the voice selection menu could be the simple "BEEP" (or any other, even in different variants by users selection). I mostly drive with all alerts off, I watch the screen heree and there. But driving on highway can easily couse the junction miss. Simple tick or beep sound will notice me, the upcomming route change.

This would be a great feature! Like three different sounds, from deeper when you're at a distance from the curve, medium when you're approaching it and higher when you have to turn.

This would be great especially when traveling with sleeping kids. Or maybe even a flash of the screen to get my attention that a turn is coming.

I would love that. And it would be so easy to do: just a ne voice with a beep for all alerts, used in alerts only mode..

Yes please! Waze turn by turn voice is so **** overbearing and outright annoying AF. Just a quick beep is more than sufficient instead of being nagged to death. If I wanted to be nagged to death, I'd have my wife ride with me

It would be great to be able to get only an audible or visual indicator instead of voice-assist. So for instance, one "ding" or flash of the screen ahead of the need to take an action, and then one just before. Pretty much like voice-assist, but without voice.

I don't love the spoken directions and alerts. I really just need something to tell me "check the screen". Rather than a full read out, or even a simplified readout of the directions, could there not just be a "ding" that lets me know an upcoming direction so I know to look at the screen.
I keep the speaking directions off because I find them annoying. But I frequently miss turns, off-ramps, etc when Waze wants me to take a different route than I normally do on a frequent drive because of traffic or hazards, etc.
