Adjustable delay before announcements
Build optional delay into announcements via Bluetooth to allow for phone and system latency.

This definitely needs to be added as a feature. If the Bluetooth stereo is playing radio or music, it's difficult to hear the Waze directions.

This feature would resolve the issue missing the first part of direction announcements.

I use Waze in a number of vehicles and the connection to the vehicle is very slow. I miss most of the messages.

Without a user adjustable delay the “Play as BlueTooth phone call” feature has limited usability. Often an essential part of a direction instruction is lost because it is clipped.

This is a required feature - to send empty sound - silence for a period of time before the voice. It can default to whatever is used today to not impact current happy people. However on my car like many others the voice is clipped and sometimes the entire voice announcement is never heard.
As suggested add a slider to enable a period of silent sound before the voice or notification sound is sent to over bluetooth. -

Announcement clipping is a problem on both our 2013 Honda Odyssey and 2012 AUDi Q7, neither of which have Apple CarPlay and rely on a Bluetooth “phone call” instead. Recommend having a setting in the app that allows one to adjust the delay before the voice command starts (e.g.- slider starting at 0 and allowing adjustments in either direction (less or more delay) in .25 second increments).

No way, I am not sure if it is Apple carplay cause I am using a rental right now, but Waze directions are already delayed where I am now: if u know the roads it wont affect you, but if u are using it as a GPS more delay is a really bad idea

When setting sound to hear only "navigation guidance and alerts", please eliminate the 2-3 seconds of silence you get through a Bluetooth connection when you miss a suggested turn.
