New Voice Command
Create a Drill Sergeant voice that says something like… hey knucklehead you missed the turn, you failed your mission or what’s wrong moron, can you follow simple directions?

Dear WAZE,
My name is Neil James MacRaild and I have an idea.
Many people like to use voice navigation with GPS when they are driving to an unfamiliar place. They can keep their eyes on the road instead of on a map (paper or digital). The voice gives them directions and they make it to their destination quickly and easily. However, these voices are often cold computerized voices, or they are human voices with no character.
From my research, I have discovered that some services offer alternative voices like Darth Vader or Arnold Schwarzenegger. These, I suppose, are better than nothing, but what I propose is a series of characters/stereotypes to be created that people can download for free. For example:
The Sarcastic Teenage Girl: “Like, you need to turn left in 200 metres…or whatever.”
The Drill Sergeant: “Turn left in 200 metres, soldier…or you will feel the steel of my boot!”
The Disappointed Father: “Turn left in 200 metres…. even you can manage that small task.”
The Nagging Wife: “I already told you to turn left in 200 metres. Why don’t you ever listen to me?”
The Overeager Intern: “Boss, I don’t mean to tell you what to do because I think you’re great, but turning left in 200 metres would be a good move, I think.”
These are just a few of the ideas from the top of my head. I was also thinking that it’s pretty boring with simple directions. How about some encouragement?
“You’re doing great!” “Wonderfully smooth turn!” “I like the way you handle this vehicle.”
Please get back to me if you like this idea. I know it’s not absolutely original, but the software already exists, and it would simply be a matter of adding the voices on top. Every country in the world has unemployed actors and a whole different set of stereotypes waiting to be explored.
This idea would make a journey more interesting, funny, and an altogether memorable experience. I think it’s also important that the voices are free and easy to download. People can choose at their leisure.
Sincerely,
Neil James MacRaild
