Often links are sent with layer settings. This often happens to new editors unintentionally, although it is not necessary. It is not always useful if the settings are overwritten directly. It would be better if layer settings are not simply overwritten, but the user is asked beforehand.
"This link contains layer settings, do you want to overwrite yours?". This would save a lot of work.
