Train
I see suggestions for reporting trains, and the responses from Waze are that railroad crossings are now available. However, I would love if we could report when a train is actually there or if Waze was somehow able to detect trains / train schedules and find alternate routes one day. Knowing railroad crossings are helpful, but when there’s a train it could delay ~15 minutes to the route so it would be great to be notified of an active train or be able to report it

I live in Tokyo where most people commute by train and to a lesser degree by bus. Trains are subject to delays caused by things like local power outages, equipment failures, and even suicides. Overcrowding is also an issue. Being able to report to other Wazers that a line has temporarily stopped gives them a chance to choose another route. Also having the ability to share your location on a voluntary basis so that other users can know when you will get off the train and a seat will become available would be nice. Right now finding a seat is all guessing and luck. The schedules are already available from multiple sources for free and the train companies put out alerts but they are only in one language. Waze could make it easier for people from other countries to get the information. I think this would be popular in many major cities with good public transportation.
