Support for multilingualism
Hi All.
Since this forum was recently opened, I would like to point out, at the beginning, a very important matter that I find shared between the localization community and the responsible for WME and the app in general.
While we are active and translating the app in real-time, we do not find sufficient support to represent and invest this effort in reality.
I have previously spoken about this matter, but I will repeat it in the hope that we will find someone who listens to us this time.
app support for multilingualism in everything is not lacking, but what do we call it when the app is fully translated, but the map, street names, and others are in English? Isn’t this a clear deficiency in supporting multilingualism? How can a community translate the app but cannot make this translation appear on the app? Since there is only one option (one language), and we must consider the majority in the country we are in, we cannot rely on the original language of the country since visitors and English speakers are more numerous and must be considered! However, if we come to the people of the country, they cannot use the application in their language, and this is considered a deficiency even in the number of users, and I consider it a greater attraction factor for the user base.
Finally, many years have passed, and we talk about the matter and hear promises, but there is no new development in the matter. I believe it deserves to see the app compensating, if I may use the expression, as language speakers would like to see it, not to be half in one language and the other half in another.
Share your opinions with me, and I hope that action will be taken on this matter, as it has been overdue since around 2015.
thanks!
