Problem: When using Waze primarily for traffic and alert monitoring (rather than navigation), essential information like the compass, speed limit, and alert icons doesn’t appear unless a specific destination is set. (I am using ipadOS 17.4)

Suggested Improvement:
Introduce a new option in “Settings: General” called “Default Driving Mode.”
Users can choose between:
Traffic Mode: Starts Waze in full-screen map mode without the “Where to?” prompt. Provides standard map elements and access to submit/receive alerts.
Navigation Mode: Retains the current default map with the persistent “Where to?” prompt.
Consider adding a button on the map display to toggle between Navigation and Traffic modes while allowing users to maintain their preferred startup setting.
