Waze mode for public bus drivers
Team,
My name is Meital , and I’m a professional bus driver in Israel. I’d like to suggest a new feature that could greatly benefit both new and experienced drivers: a dedicated navigation mode for bus lines.
The idea is to create an option within Waze that allows drivers to select a specific public bus line (e.g., “Line 76 from Ashdod to Bat Yam”) and get step-by-step navigation based on the actual route and stops of that line. The system would include all scheduled stops, expected turns, and route-specific details.
This feature could serve multiple purposes:
• For new drivers, it would be an excellent learning tool before entering service.
• For experienced drivers, it would offer immediate guidance when assigned unfamiliar lines on short notice.
I also believe this service could be offered exclusively to licensed drivers, possibly as a paid premium feature, to keep it professional and avoid public misuse.
Many drivers in the field—myself included—would be thrilled to see such a tool developed. It would significantly improve safety, reduce errors on route, and provide peace of mind during demanding shifts.
If this idea is of interest, I would love to elaborate or collaborate in any way possible.
Thank you for your time and consideration

Hi there! I was invited to share my suggestion here after leaving a comment on the App Store. Amazing customer service for reaching out and following up!
As a tour bus driver, I would love Waze to have a dedicated bus mode where we can avoid low bridges, sharp turns, U-turns, narrow streets, and tunnels that are too low for our vehicles, while also allowing us to use “no trucks” routes when buses are permitted. It would also be extremely useful to have features to find bus parking areas and designated drop-off / pick-up zones. There is a big difference between truck navigation and bus navigation, but there are currently very few options for bus drivers.

this is such a solid idea. I can totally see how a dedicated navigation mode for bus lines would help new drivers learn the routes faster and give experienced ones a safety boost on unfamiliar lines. Honestly, I’ve been wondering how to contact Flixbuss https://flixbus.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html about similar suggestions and this seems like the perfect type of feature to pitch. Definitely worth pursuing.
