Android auto

why cant use navigation on phone while connected to android auto! drivers prefer to look at the map on the phone as it is nearer than the car info system

    I would also like to have a visible map on the phone while waze is connected to android auto, however for a different reason. I want to tap on the map to set a destination while connected to android auto. Map tapping to set destination only works while not connected to android auto.
