The Problem:
Traveling across European borders requires drivers to constantly adapt to different local traffic regulations. For example, in Germany, using apps with active speed camera and police alerts is strictly illegal (StVO § 23) and carries a 75 EUR fine. Currently, Waze forces users to manually dig deep into the settings to turn these features off when crossing the border, which is very easy to forget and puts international drivers at high risk of a penalty.
​The Solution:
Please introduce an automatic "Legal Mode" or a geo-fenced feature that automatically disables speed camera and police warnings when entering countries where they are restricted by law. (While France has a partial workaround with "danger zones," other countries need automated compliance).
​Why it matters:
Competitors like Google Maps already handle this seamlessly by dynamically disabling restricted features based on GPS location. Adding a smart compliance toggle would make Waze much safer, stress-free, and legally reliable for cross-border drivers without requiring manual configuration.
