While lane guidance and hazard reporting exist, specifying the exact lane requires navigating multiple menu taps while driving. This proposal introduces a direct map gesture (One-Tap UI) to make lane-specific reporting instant and seamless.
Key Mechanics:
Instead of opening multi-level menus, users tap relative to the highlighted route line on the map:
Tap left of the route line: Direct-reports to the left lane/shoulder.
Tap on the route line: Direct-reports to central lanes.
Tap right of the route line: Direct-reports to the right lane/shoulder.
Key Benefits:
Reduced Driver Distraction: Cuts reporting down from multiple menu taps to a single intuitive gesture.
Increased Data Accuracy: Drivers are much more likely to specify the exact lane if it only takes one quick tap on the map.
