Dear Waze Team,
I am writing to provide critical feedback regarding the recent UI updates that have negatively impacted the usability and safety of the app.
With recent updates, you removed the historical left-side bar for speed-controlled zones (such as average speed checks or speed enforcement areas). Previously, this sidebar provided an immediate, highly visible overview of where you were within the monitored zone and made it instantly clear that you were driving in a speed-controlled stretch of road. This has been replaced with a small notification window at the bottom of the screen, which is extremely easy to miss. Consequently, myself and many other users have received speeding tickets simply because the new visual alert goes completely unnoticed during driving, whereas the old design was unmissable. Replacing such an effective safety feature with a subtle, easy-to-overlook layout is a serious regression.
Furthermore, the latest updates have introduced unnecessary clutter that complicates the user experience. For instance, upon opening the app, pop-up messages now display the number of Wazers online or nearby reports. When drivers are getting into their cars and preparing to depart in a hurry, this information is entirely superfluous and creates unnecessary distraction during high-pressure moments when quick, focused navigation is essential.
I urge you to reconsider these UI/UX decisions by restoring a prominent, highly visible notification element for speed-controlled zones and removing the distracting startup pop-ups.
