PUR (Pending Update Request) for L6-Locked POI Modifications by L6 Editors
Bonjour,
Currently, a Level 6 (L6) editor can directly modify or delete a POI locked at the same level (L6) without intermediate validation.
However, L6 editors remain human and can make mistakes due to oversight or accidental edits. A recent concrete case demonstrated this: a critical POI locked at L6, essential for the Tour de France, was deleted by another L6 editor. This caused a critical operational outage on the ground, which is especially harmful since the associated QR code cannot be regenerated.
To secure map integrity on high-lock elements, we request the implementation of a suggestion system (PUR - Pending Update Request) for any modification or deletion of a POI locked at L6, even when the action is initiated by another Level 6 editor.
Benefits:
Prevent unintentional destructive modifications or deletions on strategic or event-driven points.
Ensure peer review (mandatory validation by another L6 editor or the lock creator) before final application.
Secure high-stakes operational data (partnerships, major events, critical infrastructure).
