Toll booth announcement in Dutch
Last week I was in France, and to my surprise, at one point I heard the announcement, “You are approaching a toll booth.” in a diminutive manner.
Who came up with the idea of using a diminutive form for that? There’s no such thing as a “little toll gate” in France. They’re always big—or even bigger. It seems more like part of a general dumbing down of the language by making everything smaller.
Could you please take a normal, business-like approach to this and adjust the voice guidance properly again?
