I agree there's no reasonable way to automate this.
The easiest option I can think of is an 'announce' option on junctions which could work in the same way as turn restrictions. That would also be useful for 'filter lanes' where you need to be in a specific lane to make a turn, and that lane may begin 100m+ from the 'real' junction.

This needs to be an optional setting in Cartouche not something autowatic.
