Allow a longer delay before voice prompts
When using my iPhone with bluetooth handsfree kit, I miss the first word of each prompt while the kit detects bluetooth audio and mutes my radio in the car. Please increase delay between starting the announcement (or add a selectable option to do so) to overcome this problem.

Yep- I've noticed that the above suggestion is dated 7 years ago! Shame that waze can't be bothered to implement a bluetooth delay.
so what I do is to give them a 1 star rating until this is fixed.

How difficult is it to put in a delay at the beginning and end of any instruction, alert, etc? Other apps do it!!

Samsung solves this by generating a low level of white noise briefly
Other flagship phones do similar
Play a silent WAV to confirm

An optional attention tone before the announcement would be a good solution to this. (For Android as well)

Yes, please open the BT audio channel at least 1/2 second before the voice prompt starts. This gives the BT headset time to return from standby and deliver the A2DP feed.
