  1. Permanent warning of the possibility of animal crossing

Hi, It occurred to me that it would be useful to have a permanent warning (like the Tutor) of the possibility of wild animals (like deer) or domestic animals (like cows) crossing the road.

My suggestion is for the following feature: Added permanent warning “Possible animal crossing”.

My suggestion solves this problem: Know how far and how many kilometers you’ll be at risk of animals crossing the road. Don’t be caught unprepared when dealing with animals.

In more words: The warning would be similar to the average speed control warning. This warning doesn’t replace the animal warning, but it would provide advance warning…

  2. change shape or proximity of the alert pop up choices to make it easier to hit with a finger

Concerning the pop-up's for alerts: for example when one comes up for a car on the shoulder. The two choices are imprinted on two horizontal bars that are very close together. I find that sometimes although my finger is going to "still there" because the choices are horizontal bars and close together, a small deviation in the car caused me to miss and hit " not there". A suggestion therefore - why not have the choices a different shape, i.e. circular, and separated in a way that mitigates this issue ? I like this app by the way.

  3. Average-speed zone UI and stationary camera voice alert

    1. In landscape mode the vertical green bar for distance to an average-speed zone disappears. Keep it visible in landscape.

    2. Show time of entry into an average-speed zone and the earliest allowed exit time, so the driver can judge speed to the exit.

    3. Add a short voice alert when approaching a stationary speed camera. There is none today.

    Thanks

  4. Audible Police Alerts

I would love for WAZE to audibly alert me to a police sighting posted for the opposite direction I am driving. Right now, it only alerts me (audibly) if the police post is on my side of the road. Since I travel on 2-lane roads a lot, it would help if I could be (audibly) alerted to a police post on either side of the road, since most police can easily stop a car going either direction. The audible could say "Police ahead on the left" or "Police ahead on the right."

  5. Headlight reminder on sunset

In Brazil, drivers must turn on their headlights between sunset and sunrise (Brazilian Traffic Code, Article 40, I, a, and Annex I).

When th theme is set to Auto, Waze automatically switches to dark mode at sunset, so we know it knows the sun's schedule for the driver's location.

Waze already sends a reminder to turn on headlights on specific road segments that require them.

I suggest that Waze also remind drivers to turn on their headlights at sunset. Drivers should have the option to turn this notification off in the Waze settings.

  8. Police alert distance setting

I researched using Gemini (just as Waze also belongs to Google) to find out the distance Waze uses to warn about the presence of police, and it indicated it should be between 1 km and 1.5 km before the vehicle is located (approximately 2 miles); I have been receiving warnings less than half a mile (300 m) away. For notifications about police ahead, Waze could anticipate the warning a little further (2.5 km or 4 miles), or include the option to configure the distance, since they are occurring too close to the police officer's location, thus losing effectiveness (this has…

  9. Removal of speed camera warnings

Speed camera warnings are also used by drivers that normally exceed speed limits, which warnings provide a tool to comfortably exceed speed limits, unsafe driving. Therefore speed camera warnings can be seen as intrinsic unsafe.

  11. Tolls Road

I suggest trying—if possible—to create a specific "report" type for countries that have road tolls (like Bulgaria), such as a "BGTOLL vehicle" category; there are many instances where these are reported as police cars, but in reality, they are just vehicles equipped with cameras to check for vignettes.

  12. Alert both directions of travel for police

Maybe this isn't a new idea and has already been expressed here but I think it would be important for both directions of travel to receive an alert of police no matter which side it was reported on, because often it is sitting in the middle between both directions and other times it's a two-lane highway where the police on the other side could still get you. I believe this could also effectively eliminate the need for reporting a police on the other side and just have a single report police button.

  13. AI-Powered "Wake-Up" Alerts at Bottlenecks & Green Lights to Dissolve Traffic Faster

    The Problem:
Traffic jams and traffic lights clear up slowly because of human reaction time. When a light turns green or a bottleneck clears, there is a "domino effect" delay as each driver takes a few seconds to notice and move. This significantly reduces the number of cars that manage to pass through during a green light.

    The Solution:
Waze can detect the exact point where a bottleneck dissolves or when a traffic light turns green based on real-time data from the leading vehicles.

Once this "release point" is identified, Waze should send a subtle, prompt audio/visual alert (like a…

  14. Anti-Rubbernecking Alert: Active voice prompt to prevent "curiosity" traffic jams

    The Problem:
One of the main causes of heavy traffic jams on highways is drivers slowing down to look at car accidents ("rubbernecking"), even when the accident is on the shoulder or a completely different lane and does not block the traffic flow. This behavior creates "phantom traffic jams" that waste millions of driving hours and increase the risk of secondary rear-end collisions.

    The Solution (Feature Request):
Develop a smart, location-based alert system that activates when the following conditions are met:

Detection: Waze's algorithm detects a significant slowdown near a reported accident, but also recognizes (via user reports or historical…

  15. Allow Waze users to correct sightings of "mobile police cameras" when it fact the devices are "license plate readers".

My town has many "license plate readers" that allow police to locate stolen cars or to respond to Amber and Silver alerts. Too many people report them as "mobile police cameras". These devices are not "mobile" and they are not intended to monitor speed. They are intended to locate bad actors. In fact, Waze should not identify these plate readers because they might help bad actors escape detection.

  19. Abandoned Car Silent Alert

Be good to be able to mark an abandoned car - currently can only use the orange "car stopped in shoulder". If a car is stopped with hazard lights on a visual and audible alert is appropriate as people may be working on it/around the vehicle. If the vehicle is abandoned though a warning is not necessary - a lot of people in my area use Waze and they slam on the brakes because ALL their alerts are on by default and they don't switch them off. This is totally unnecessary and dangerous on highways when the vehicle has been…
