Option to make reports in either direction of travel
Ability to post reports of road closures, traffic etc in all direction of travel, not just the direction gps “says your heading” for example if stationary in parking lot next to road and see something and want to report, there is no option to just click on precise location of road no matter what direction. Love this app but this is the one option lacking, you would think this option would be available by now. Kind of a very important issue?

In South Africa - so many potholes, would appreciate it moved to the map screen so we could just tap on it to report!

Firstly, thank you for a genuinely fantastic app — Waze is easily one of the most useful driving tools out there, and the community reporting system works incredibly well overall.
One small usability suggestion: the current “Hazards” button feels a little ambiguous, especially when trying to quickly report something common like potholes while driving. In practice, it can add an extra step to find the option you actually need.
It would be much more user-friendly if the specific report categories were surfaced one level sooner, with the least-used options placed lower down in the list. This would…

Report menu reorganization and favorites
It currently takes several taps to report things. Example: Report button-> Hazard -> Vehicle on the side of the road (-> submit report). My gut feeling is that is my most commonly used report, and I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case for others also.
Also with any report menu rearrangements/removals it becomes nearly impossible to find ones you use less frequently when you actually need them. Say "animals in the area" for example.
Being able to personalize the report menu order or set some as favorites would fix this problem.

Unmarked police car option for map reporting
Where I live, there are unmarked police cars who are using radar guns to send tickets to people in the mail. Please add an “unmarked police car” option to the reporting menu so people can have the distinction.

Increase notification for destination
The first time I used waze I completely missed my destination. Im used to my old map app zooming in and notifying me if I have missed it. Waze just assumes you have arrived and so I was lost after I missed my destination. There was also no notification to turn, it just assumed where I was going was in the middle of the road, with no sound to let me know when I have arrived and if the directions had worked. This makes the app unusable for me as rural areas sometimes houses and places are very hidden!

Road closure zoom UI interface
Reporting road closure should cause the app to zoom in slightly when roads overlap or are bunched together; there's less distraction and more precision. Leading on from that, there should be a mode to allow multiple inputs without getting locked out when reporting closed roads along a route. I got lost one early morning around 3AM and those features would've been a massive help.

Love the app. Im a truck driver and I use it every day. Can you please add a CVIU weigh bridge is open option under police reports. I can guarantee it will help all trucking and you will have almost every truck driver in New Zealand using your app

Inaccurate “Public transportation” Ticket Alerts for motorcycle-only routes
In Taiwan, many segments and turns (which aren’t public transportation lanes) are restricted to motorcycles only (24/7). However, the system currently assumes they are public transportation lanes by design and shows this pop-up.
As a result, when navigating through these routes, the app mistakenly shows a ‘Ticket Alert’ with a ‘Public transportation vehicles only’ warning. This causes a lot of confusion for users.
To improve the user experience, I suggest displaying a specific ‘Motorcycles Only’ warning when approaching routes restricted to motorcycles.
This would act as a great reminder for users who might have accidentally set their vehicle type to…

Directional Hazard Reporting
When looking at reported hazards on the map its never clear which side of the road they are on. Theres a rudimentary "on the shoulder" or "on the other side of the street" but only for specific hazards and its not well indicated when looking at the map. This is an easy fix. Put a directional chevron above or below the reported hazard (or on whichever side of it depending on current map orientation so its set to always be pointing in one or the other direction of traffic on the street it was reported on even if you move…
