1. Urgent Proposal: Integrate E-Bike and Scooter Riders into the Waze Map for Driver and Rider Safety

   The Immediate Safety Need
   I am urgently requesting that you integrate electric bicycle and scooter riders into the Waze traffic map. I believe the primary need is not just navigation for the riders themselves, but to increase the visibility of these vehicles in the eyes of the car drivers who use the application.
   I see that Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs) – e-scooters and e-bikes – have become an integral part of urban and intercity traffic. They travel on the edge of roads, in bus lanes, and on bike paths close to driving lanes, and they pose a significant risk for accidents, mainly because drivers are often completely unaware of their immediate presence.
   The Proposed Solution: Add a "Rider Mode" for Reporting
   I propose developing a new "Rider Mode" under 'Vehicle Type,' which would serve two main purposes:
   1. Visibility and Alerts for Drivers (The Safety Aspect):
   Active Presence Marking: A rider who selects this mode would be marked as an "active Waze user" on the map, similar to a car or motorcycle, but with a unique icon (e.g., a helmet or a scooter).
   Automatic Safety Alerts: Waze could warn car drivers who are approaching a rider or a group of riders from behind. The alert could be audible ("Caution: Cyclist ahead") or visual on the screen.
   Hazardous Areas: Warnings could be issued to drivers in advance of areas prone to riding (e.g., a road section without a dedicated bike lane, or a popular riding zone).
   2. Specific Reporting for Riders (The Community Aspect):
   Reporting Road Hazards: Giving riders the option to report specific dangers that threaten them and low-profile vehicles (such as potholes, obstacles in the bike lane, or a blocking car). These reports would also benefit other drivers.
   Mutual Safety Cooperation: Riders could report the presence of police/inspectors focusing on LEVs, thereby creating a reciprocal safety community (as Waze currently does for cars).
   The Unique Advantage of Waze
   Other navigation apps offer cycling routes, but Waze is the only application used by millions of drivers on the roads worldwide. I believe the solution to the LEV safety problem lies in Waze's unique ability to connect heavy vehicle users (cars) with light vehicle users (e-bikes/scooters) on the same platform.
   I am confident that adding this feature will not only improve rider safety but will also help drivers be more focused, reduce the element of surprise, and ultimately save lives and reduce the number of traffic accidents.
   I urge the Waze development team to prioritize the immediate addition of this critical safety feature.

2. “Feature Proposal: Visual GPS Mode for Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Drivers”

   Hello Waze team and community,

   I’d like to propose a Visual GPS Mode to make navigation more accessible for deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers. This mode would provide clear visual turn indicators, distance countdowns, and optional haptic alerts, allowing safe and independent navigation without relying on voice directions.

   I believe this feature aligns with Waze’s community-first philosophy and could enhance engagement while empowering all drivers. Feedback, collaboration, or pilot testing ideas from the Waze community would be greatly appreciated.

3. Functionality requests

   • For the online version -
     Need to be able to add and manage saved favorites just like on GMaps.
     Need to be able to see my saved places on the map just like on GMaps.

   • For the in-car version -
     Need to be able to touch a spot on the map and save it as a favourite or navigate to it or add it to the route Just like on Google Maps.
     Need to be able to touch on a map icon and get more info about what it is, ie a crash, speed camera etc.
     For alerting other drivers about road conditions, you need to add "Debris on Road" as an option.
     When adding an alert on the live map, need to be able to choose exactly where the alert is and NOT where my car is right now. Remember, we're driving and need to focus on what we're doing to get through the hazard. This is how I'd like to able to do it - Tap the warning triangle, choose the hazard from the list, tap the map for it's location. Then allow up to 10 seconds for me to be able to cancel in case I've made a mistake.
     The way it is now, I couldn't be bothered to submit because it's not worth the hassle and it's behind me now.

   • For the App version -
     After touching a point on the map, menu options need to include; Go here, Save as a favourite, and (if currently on a drive) Add as a way-point and Go here Instead. Hiding them in Preview Location makes for a complicated and unintuitive experience.

   • For the online version -

   Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are two of today's most widely used buzzwords in the cutting-edge technological scene. While they're sometimes used interchangeably, they're respective but related areas. AI is the general term that refers to developing systems that can carry out tasks that would otherwise need human intelligence, while machine learning refers to a subset of AI that enables systems to learn from data and get better over time without being specifically programmed. It's important for students, professionals, and organizations to understand the difference between AI and ML because it determines how they can effectively use the power of intelligent systems.

   Artificial Intelligence is the general field that seeks to create machines that are capable of simulating human intelligence. It entails developing systems that are able to execute tasks like reasoning, learning, problem-solving, perception, and even comprehension of language. The theory of AI began in the 1950s when scientists were interested in the idea of developing machines that would be capable of "thinking" like humans. AI has two forms: narrow AI and general AI. Narrow AI or weak AI is tailored to some task, for example, voice detection or face recognition. They are extremely effective at what they have been designed to do but are bound to that. General AI is currently a theoretical idea and has yet to be realized.

For instance, a chess AI built by employing rule-based AI would receive a set of instructions on how to make moves based on certain game conditions. Conversely, a machine learning-based chess program would learn from thousands of games, discovering which moves work best in various situations through no explicit programming. It is this learning and adaptability that makes ML-based systems distinct from traditional AI.

   Additionally, the development process of AI and ML systems also varies considerably. Constructing a classical AI system tends to include writing out logic and rules explicitly, which is time-consuming and less flexible. Constructing an ML model takes gathering and preparing data, choosing an appropriate algorithm, training the model with the data, and testing and tuning it based on performance. As the ML model receives more data, it gets better and better, while rule-based AI systems do not evolve unless updated manually.

   For practical applications, both AI and ML have been used extensively, but the latter has taken on more significance in recent times because of its scalability and efficacy with big data. These applications tend to leverage machine learning methods in order to enhance performance. Without machine learning, most of the current AI systems we depend on would either not exist or not be nearly as useful.

   It should be noted, then, that artificial intelligence and machine learning are related but distinct concepts. AI is the general objective of developing intelligent machines that can simulate human actions, whereas ML is a technique used to accomplish this objective by enabling machines to learn from experience. Comprehending this divergence is critical for understanding how smart technologies are created and utilized across different industries. As technology advances, machine learning will continue to be a driving force for innovation within the broader AI landscape, making machines smarter, faster, and more efficient at solving intricate tasks.

    i love this app so much i wish you can add more sounds and more cars widgets and add more sounds i love to add street view and city view add ai add more settings and options add satellite view add more i hope also i love to have cars cars customization also add more maps display add more voice and sounds add more settings to add more navigation options i want this app to have all kinds of things
