report route change due to traffic
It happens a lot that the route is taking me to a heavy traffic road. I turn to avoid it, but can't report it. It would be great to have a pop-up when avoiding the suggested route to ask if it's due to traffic

Are you in traffic?
When the system asks if you are in traffic?? you can answer yes or no. For the amount of times that you have stopped for a coffee or gas and there is no traffic...instead of the system assuming you are and then saying that "First street" is at a standstill...make the automatic answer no, then if we are we can answer yes. I think this will reduce the fake high traffic areas people complain about

Add a grid on the background instead of the uniform grey colour.
This would increase the "sensation" of perspective and, if the grid is at fixed size (example 100x100 meters) would also help in understanding how much space there's before next turn/crossroad/stop....

Remember Events filter
I would like the client to remember the setting I select for filtering Events. "Around Me", "On Route" and "My Groups" are great filters, but when I return to the map/driving view, I want my Events count at the top to be filtered and when I tap on it/select it, I want my Events report list to still be filtered by the same criteria.

Road trip mode: track progress since activation, share milestones
For longer, multi-stage trips, a more robust kind of logging might be useful. This "road trip" mode would keep track of the distance traveled since activation, and post a message on Twitter, Facebook, etc. when a milestone has been passed (e.g., passing a predetermined amount of miles or crossing a state/provincial/national boundary).

Enable Toyota instrument cluster navigation
New Toyota vehicles like Corolla 2023+, latest C-HR, and similar cars have the ability to partially show navigation on the instrument cluster in front of the steering wheel. For example turn right after 150 meters. This works with Google Maps, but not with Waze. Waze has implemented this functionality in the beginning of the year 2025, but not for Toyota vehicles. Please add support for Toyota.

"I would like to request that the audible speed limit warning feature be made available even when a navigation route is not actively set. Many users, including myself, frequently drive on familiar routes where turn-by-turn navigation is not needed, but we still want to be alerted when exceeding the speed limit for safety reasons. Currently, the audible warning only triggers during active navigation, which makes the app less useful for daily commutes. Please consider adding an option in the settings to enable these alerts regardless of whether a destination is set or not."

Show the following maneuver at least 2 km ahead for better lane positioning
Waze should provide an early visual preview of the maneuver that comes after the currently upcoming maneuver.
The idea is to give drivers visibility of the following maneuver at least up to 2 km ahead, rather than showing it only when two maneuvers are extremely close together.
The purpose is not to start navigating to the second maneuver early. The second maneuver does not need a voice announcement, distance countdown, street name or other detailed information.
A small directional arrow below the primary maneuver would be enough.
For example:
↗ Exit right in 800 m
then ↙This simply tells the driver:
“After completing the upcoming maneuver, the next maneuver will be to the left.”
Why this matters
The following maneuver can influence how the driver should execute the first maneuver.
Consider a large and congested motorway interchange around Rotterdam.
Waze may tell the driver to take a branch to the right. After taking that branch, the route may require another maneuver to the left only 1–2 km later.
If the driver only learns about that second maneuver after completing the first one, they may already have positioned themselves in the far-right lane. They then have very little time to cross several busy lanes.
If Waze showed a small “then left” arrow while the driver was still approaching the first maneuver, the driver could consciously choose a lane through the first interchange that leaves them conveniently positioned for the second maneuver.
This is especially useful on large motorway interchanges, where 1–2 km is not a long distance at motorway speeds, particularly in heavy traffic.
The same applies in congested cities. If the next maneuver after a right turn will be a left turn, knowing this beforehand can help the driver choose the appropriate turning lane and finish the first maneuver already positioned correctly for what comes next.
Suggested behaviour
Waze should provide visibility of the following maneuver at least 2 km ahead, where practical.
The secondary maneuver could be displayed simply as a small arrow underneath the primary navigation instruction.
It does not necessarily need:
- a voice announcement,
- its own distance countdown,
- a street or exit name,
- or full navigation details.
It is simply an early directional preview.
The normal detailed instruction for the second maneuver would still appear at the appropriate time.
The goal is simple: let the driver know what comes after the current maneuver early enough to execute the current maneuver with the next one already in mind.
This would make lane positioning more deliberate, predictable and comfortable, especially on complex motorway interchanges and in dense urban traffic.

Feature Request: Touch Lock
Please add a touch lock feature, similar to VLC or MX Player.
As a motorcycle rider, my phone screen gets exposed to rain. Raindrops land on the screen and register as random touches — sometimes changing my route or opening settings, which disrupts my navigation mid-ride.
A touch lock would let the screen stay visible without accepting accidental taps, keeping the map view stable in wet conditions.
Suggested implementation: a lock button on screen that, when tapped, disables touch input. To unlock, the rider swipes across a designated area (same pattern used in VLC/MX Player), preventing accidental unlocks from stray raindrops.

AI Pothole & Speed Bump Detection via Phone Sensors (Waze for Cities)
I submitted this exact concept to Google a long time ago, but no action was taken. I am bringing it here today because Waze is the perfect platform to finally make this happen.Waze should implement passive, background telemetry analysis using the smartphone's built-in accelerometer and gyroscope. An AI algorithm can easily recognize the distinct physical patterns of hitting a pothole or crossing a speed bump. To eliminate false positives, the system would require data aggregation: if multiple users register the same vertical impact at the exact same GPS coordinates, the map should automatically generate a hazard annotation.Once these hazards are mapped, Waze should add a toggle in the navigation settings to "Avoid roads with bad quality or speed bumps", functioning exactly like the current "Avoid tolls" option.Furthermore, this data should be automatically shared with local municipalities through the Waze for Cities program. Instead of waiting for citizens to manually report issues, city councils could automatically receive a live heat-map of verified potholes. This would allow cities to locate and repair broken roads much faster, saving money for both governments and drivers.

Active Railroad Crossings
Using real-time data from vehicles, if a driver is approaching a railroad crossing with vehicles already stopped at the tracks, Waze can pick up on it by alerting the driver to "Prepare to stop".

Repeat voice navigation button
Repeat voice navigation button. While driving It would be nice to press a button to repeat the directions. Sometimes you don't hear it. (Traffic, kids, radio, on call) Or you haven't heard it in a while and you'd like to hear it again.

Optional Highway Traffic Jam Voice Alert
Optional Highway Traffic Jam Voice Alert
Waze already detects traffic speed in real time. Please add an optional voice warning such as:
"Heavy traffic ahead. Reduce your speed."
Trigger the alert when the average speed drops abruptly (for example, from 100 km/h to below 30 km/h within a short distance).
This would improve safety on highways by giving drivers more time to brake smoothly and reducing rear-end collisions. The feature should be optional in Settings.

Add stop - total trip time
When adding a stop, it would be great to see the total trip time. Not just the time to the first stop.
That’d be more helpful for someone’s planning3 votes -
Better EV Support
In France, electric cars are now sold more than traditional gas cars.
EV drivers use Waze every day.
However, Waze is still designed mostly for gas vehicles.
Here are simple features to make Waze the best app for EV drivers.Better Route Alternatives for EVs
Current alternative routes show equal travel times. But they ignore distance and battery consumption.
One route might use much more energy.
Waze should calculate and show energy consumption for each alternative route.Vehicle Profile & Smart Charging Stops
Users should be able to select their vehicle brand and exact model.
Waze will know the real energy consumption of the car.
Users should also select their charging subscriptions (like Ionity or Tesla in France).
Waze should then automatically suggest the best charging stops on the route.Initial Battery Level Input
Users need to enter their starting battery level (SOC %).
Waze will adjust charging stops according to the current charge.Destination Charging
Drivers need to plan arrival charging easily.
Waze should show available charging stations near the final destination before starting the trip.Real-Time Battery Impact Factors
Elevation and weather affect EV range a lot.
Waze should adjust estimated consumption based on route elevation changes.Community Charging Reports
EV drivers need real-time station info.
Waze should allow users to report broken, occupied, or blocked chargers easily.

Convoy Mode
Subject: Feature Request: "Convoy Mode" - Real-time Route Sharing for Multiple Cars
Message:
To the Waze Development Team,I am a daily Waze user and a big fan of your navigation system. However, there is a missing feature that would greatly improve the experience for many users: a true "Convoy Mode" or Group Navigation.
Currently, the "Share Drive" feature is lagging, clunky, and doesn't clearly show the route of the other driver. When families or friends travel to the same destination in multiple cars, we need to see each other's live location directly on the highlighted route.
The proposed feature:
A shared session where multiple drivers navigating to the same destination can see each other as distinct icons moving smoothly along the designated route on the map, in real-time, without delay.Google Maps has a better live location sharing, but Waze is superior for navigation and traffic alerts. Adding a "Convoy Mode" would prevent users from having to use other apps just to keep track of each other during group trips.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Reoccuring online check
Waze appears to check for an internet connection only when the app first starts. If no connection is available at that point, it switches to an offline-maps-only mode. However, it does not seem to check again for connectivity while the app remains open.
For example, my car’s Wi‑Fi can take a few minutes to start after the ignition is turned on. If I open Waze before the Wi‑Fi is connected, the app stays offline even once the connection becomes available. To restore online functionality, I currently have to either start and cancel a route or fully close and reopen the app.
Please add periodic or event-based internet connectivity checks while Waze is running in offline mode. The app should automatically return to online operation as soon as a usable connection becomes available, without requiring the user to take manual action.
This would also help drivers who begin a journey in an area with no mobile signal but regain coverage later. At present, they may continue using Waze offline for the entire journey unless they manually trigger a refresh or restart the app.

Multi Waypoint Route Planning
Provide multi waypoint route planning, allowing shaping points for tailoring routes, and a library to store routes.
This could be achieved online via Google Maps and synch to Waze app, perhaps under a Subscription model.
Supporting export in GPX format would be a nice value add in support of this too.3 votes -
