Limit name input in event mode
Technically, the name of an MTE is limited to a specific length (number of chars).
But nevertheless, I can type longer MTE names into the name field of a new MTE.Sometimes I have trial&error situations because of that. I simply have to test whether a name is still short enough by trying to save the name. If the name is too long, I get the error displayed that finally shows it.
It would be way easier if the WME could directly stop the input when the maximum name length is reached.

Add an item under the Place menu for Residential Point Place
Right now, to add an RPP one must select a place type (other than residential) and then click to convert to residential. The vast majority of PPs I add are RPPs and this adds an unnecessary step. This should be simple to add, with no downside.

Remove Headlights Required checkbox for countries where it's invalid
Only a few countries are configured to use the Headlights Required attribute on segments in WME.
Until recently, the checkbox was hidden for countries where that is not the case (the majority). Now it seems the code for that simple check has been removed and we all have it cluttering up the interface and confusing new editors who won't know what it means or why it's disabled.

ToolTip for LiveMap
Would you please consider adding a tooltip for the livemap link on the bottom of WME?
It is not obvious at all what the icon does when you hover over it.Maybe something like this would be useful when you hover of the icon ( see attached)

Allow linking of more Google places
Hi Guys,
Since some time we can now add multiple entrances to a Waze place (up to 20). Up till now we are only able to link a maximum of 4 google places. It would be nice if this restriction could be removed.Very often all entrances of a building are mapped in Google Maps. Since these are often more than 4 we ran into this limit much more quickly. This happens at Airports, Train stations, Soccer stadiums, Shopping centers, etc..

[REQUEST] Thoughts on Live closure feature, seg vs node
I brought this up Jan/2015
I think It should be revisited, here is the original forum post link and quote:https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=125253#p1009107
"some thoughts on Live closure implementation....Seg to Seg closure is great. But if you have a parade route (for instance) you can close an entire street for a mile (say west to east segs). Unfortunatly it has no affect on cross streets (say if you wanted to cross the closed road from north to south on a side street). So...Side streets have to be closed also if they cross your closed segment. Seems to me what's really needed is…
0 votesHey!
Thanks for this great suggestion.
In the time being we have already developed and launched the closures on nodes. As you were last updated, RTC (real time closures) on turns is still WIP in very early stages with no ETA.

Speed Limit Update Requests (SLURs) to WME Production for NA
Since the app changed to have the report incorrect or missing speed limit Update Requests away from the speedometer the number of garbage SLURs has dramatically reduced. Recommend that the SLURs be moved to WME Production vice staying in WME Beta.

URL length limit – why?
The WME URL field for Places is limited to 100 characters. I'm not really sure why!
Most URLs will fit in this area, true. But some hotels have URLs longer than this. When I try to add one to a Place, it is truncated, so the URL does not work in Waze.
A hotel in my area has this URL:
https://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotel ... index.html
WME truncates it to this when pasting into URL box:
https://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotel ... ood-clearv
To compare them:
CODE: SELECT ALL
https://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/louisiana/hampton-inn-and-suites-new-orleans-elmwood-clearview-parkway-area-MSYELHX/index.htmlhttps://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/louisiana/hampton-inn-and-suites-new-orleans-elmwood-clearv
For a hotel in particular, websites can be difficult for searching for a particular location, and…

Automatically turn on UR layer
When an editor sends a request for information to a reporter, the email that the reporter gets says
You can reply using the Waze mobile app, or https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat ... 42&env=usa (β) in the Waze map editor. When the reporter clicks the link and gets directed to WME, they can't always figure out how to respond because the layer may not be turned on so the UR does not show on the screen for them to see. The UR layer should automatically get turned on when the link is clicked since most of the reporters don't know anything about the layer…
0 votesHey!
Thanks for this great suggestion, this is now available in the WME. Visiting a permalink that includes a selected object should turn on the relevant layer.

Change Color on Future Closure Arrows to Grey
If there is a two way segment that has an active closure in one direction and a future closure in the other direction it appears in WME like a two way closure.
This is because the arrows for current closures and future closures are both solid black.
I am suggesting that the arrows for future closures be changed from Black to Grey.
This would give a better indication of what is occurring and what is scheduled.
Will post pictures later.
This occurs in both WME production and WME Beta w/o scripts.

Segment History lacks detail
This is for Beta and Production:
When checking segment history, restriction changes such as HOV or passes do not include enough details. If you change whether a restriction is for a certain lane or all lanes, that should be displayed. This image is after changing the restriction from left lane only to all lanes. We should be able to see all changes to the restrictions in the history.

Permalink Keyboard shortcut
It is suggested to add a keyboard shortcut that will copy a permalink into the clipboard without the need to point on the link icon. It will make this action simpler for new WME users.
For example pressing a key (e.g. P) or CNTRL+key (after selecting the object/s).by yaacobyy

Cookies of log in
I have always wondered: I open the WME (both Prod and Beta) every day, so why do I have to log in anew almost every second day? I examined cookies of Waze, and probably found the answer.
When I open the WME, the site adds/updates the cookie "websession" (separately for beta.waze.com and www.waze.com), which expires exactly in 24 hours. So, if one day I open the WME in the morning, and the next day I open it in the afternoon, the cookie has expired, and I have to log in anew.
I suggest to increase the expire…

Walking trail with one-way direction
By default, if you draw a simple walking trail, it will have just one-way direction, however you can change it by pressing "R" or enable the option "Draw new roads as two-way" and draw a new one...
But not every Editor is aware of the hotkeys, as they are only "shortcuts".
In my opinion, a walking trail should always be by default two-way (for obvious reasons, since people can always walk both ways) or at least exist some visible toggle option on walking trail proprieties to change it with just your mouse.

Add WME support for multiple satellite image layers
Currently WME only supports a single satellite (aerial) image layer. While this seems to most often provide the latest imagery and resolutions as good as 30cm per pixel I frequently find that it is sub optimal for mapping efforts - especially when the images are from months where foliage occludes features.
Google Earth provides the ability to choose from multiple satellite image layers. I often find better layers that allow the editor to:
improve the spacial accuracy of road segments
determine stop points for rural HN and RPP (driveway intersections)
ascertain whether a road segment is paved or not

Make the "Add house number" mode sticky when adding HN in WME
When adding house numbers to a street in WME, one has to click on the"Add house numbers" button each and every time for every HN to add. That's just stupid "moving mouse back and forth" and loosing focus.
Please make that button an "on/off" button, so, when activated, each left click adds a new HN field (if the last field is properly finished).
That would help and speed up adding HN significantly.

Add number of lanes to WME
I don't see where WME knows how many lanes a road has. As a result, Navigation gives impossible directions like "Turn right in 1000 ft" when you've just entered a road from the left and there is heavy traffic. If Navigation could factor lane changes into the route calculations, I think it would be able to give much better directions. Nothing fowls up traffic worse than a car coming to a complete stop to make a lane change because the driver thinks the turn 500 feet ahead is a matter of life and death.

JUNCTION BOX for R4 editors
JUNCTION BOX for R4 editors
It has been mentioned that JBs no longer require additional routing resources. Could we get them lowered at least one rank level to R4? This is an extremely useful tool, and should be more widely implemented to improve with routing ETAs all over. They are also now easier to implement and maintain with JB 2.0, pretty much as easy as any regular node junction.
Thank you.
