Include layers settings NOT marked as default
Hello, I am almost sure that I am writing a duplicate of a proposal here. However, I have not found anything in a hurry.
What is a minor annoyance in daily editing and helping new editors is clicking on permalinks that contain layer settings. Unfortunately this option is turned on in the default. My suggestion is I think quite simple to implement. By default this function should be deselected. If you have to send your layer settings (there might be reasons to do so) you have to check this option actively."97 votes -
Issue Tracker's "Search Area" button gets in the way
Please move the "Search Area" button or make it hide when attempting to add a road or anything from the top bar.
WHY?
The "Search Area" button gets in the way when trying to add a road.
Issue Tracker must be set to Map Area and the "update results" box must be unchecked.
Hover over Road and then drag down over the "Search Area" button.40 votes -
Keep start/end times when duplicating a closure
When duplicating a closure and changing the date, the duplicated end time changes to match the start time. I suggest that when duplicating the times do not change unless the editor clicks those fields.

Setting to have vertical menu item selected when opening
I often times use scripts or change settings before making my first edit. It would be useful to have the option to have WME open with a specific element of the vertical menu selected. That may be any of the options available, but Feed/Issue Tracker and Scripts would be my most likely to use first.

Sandbox Training Server
Not to be mistaken with the beta program.
The sandbox could be a dedicated space/server where editor levels don't apply (to a degree) and lower-level editors could experiment with the functionality of higher-level access. ie Junction Boxes, Far Lanes, Shields, etc.
Mentors could use it as a training ground.
Managers could use it for promotional tests
It would also be a good space to run simulations to test what you have put into practice. Editors could also test theories without affecting the end users in the live map.

Revert requiring street/city name to be case-sensitive to auto-populate in results
In previous WME production releases, you could begin typing a street/city name in any case and the results would auto-populate. The current WME production release requires both to be case-sensitive for the results to auto-populate. This slows down the workflow for editing segments and places. Here is a screen capture of the behavior: https://www.dropbox.com/s/10p1ocs243mitiq/streetnamecasesensitive.gif?dl=0

Road details
As we all know, WME is changing its appearance and because of that, many of us complained about the unneeded "empty space" that is everywhere on WME.
I know that some extra work is being done by staff, in order to please us all the best way possible :) , but something more can be done.
One suggestion is to use symbols, instead of text, for what I call "road details": Unpaved; Tunnel; Headlights; Next to BUS lane; Beacons.
This would allow saving some more space and the icons are more or less self-explanatory, being possible to add a text/explanation…

Include setting details in user reports
Part of the challenge in handling reports is getting details from the reporting user. The following information should be available to editors to better handle reports with less need to request information from the Wazer:
Avoid toll roads
Avoid difficult intersections
Avoid freeways
Unpaved roads setting
Passes added
Vehicle typeBasically anything that affects the route suggested by Waze.

Reorder advanced WME settings
When Compact Mode was added, it was placed at the top of the advanced settings. The top settings should be those most likely to be used often. Compact Mode should go toward the bottom with the other settings less likely to be changed.
Red marks on the image are those items I think won't be changed often. https://imgur.com/wvHg0HY
Personal note - I change from drawing as one segments to two way segments often based on the roads I'm adding.

Sub-tab is blank
The new WME version has impacted scripts/tabs that have multiple sub-tabs. If the tab has multiple sub-tabs, it will open and be blank. If you open another sub-tab then re-open the first sub-tab, it will show the content. But this will repeat every time. Here is a screen capture of the behavior:

Move segment IDs to bottom of WME
With the latest update to WME, when you select a segment, the segment IDs are now at the top of the side panel.
This is fine when you only select one segment, but when you select several segments, it makes the left panel virtually unusable. We are constantly selecting multiple segments for various reasons like closing a stretch of road, adding speed limits to several segments, etc.
Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please consider moving the segment IDs back to…

Elevation drop down opened on Ground level
If clicking on Elevation the drop down opens with 9, 8, 7.... It would be helpfull if the dropdown opened with Ground level in the middle so you can easily select 1, 2 or -1.

Left panel has limited space when a warning is in the panel
When a warning such as a segment is part of a junction box a is displayed in the left panel the warning does not scroll away in the current WME beta. The previous behavior used to allow this warning to be scrolled away. The new behavior is for this warning to stay persistent. The new behavior makes it so there is very limited space to see the segment properties. This is especially problematic when trying to edit things like lanes where it is necessary to see what lanes are being assigned to each road.
The suggestion is to revert the…

Display why sometimes it is not possible to remove the streetname
There are different cases when it is not possible to remove the primary name/city from a segment (the "none" checkbox gets grayed out).
Unfortunately, there is no way to know why that happens, for normal editors.
When hovering on the checkbox, you should display one of these 2 reasons:
- This street has house numbers
- This street has a Turn Guidance set
- if there are other reasons which I still didn't find, add them too :)115 votes -
Pressing Enter on the "Add street road shield" screen should submit the form
Typing the shield value into the textboxes is the last thing you do on the "Add street road shield" screen, and it is automatic for users to hit "Enter" to submit the changes like you do when editing an address. Currently, it does nothing. Please change so that when you press enter on this screen the form is submitted.

Floating Geometry Handles for Area Places
In WME it was recently introduced to have floating geometry handles to create new geo nodes. This is very convenient, and it would be great if the same could be implemented for Area Places.
45 votesVirtual node handles for Area Places, Map Comments, and Restricted areas have been added to the WME. Read more here.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Cursor placement when adding a closure
When clicking Add Closure, it makes sense that the cursor automatically populates the Description text box ready for text entry - I'd guess that most editors would make the entry of a closure description the first thing they do when adding a closure, and it's becoming irrationally annoying having to click the text box to do this!
(Even more so now that there's a huge mouse journey from clicking the Closures tab right at the top, to the Add Closure button right at the bottom, back up to the Description box right at the top again.)

Show user/app language with UR
In multilingual countries and areas, we never know what language to use when responding to a UR. A driver in Brussels may have their app in French, Dutch, English or German. Our editors are multi-lingual, but can't see which language to use. If we'd see the display language of the app, we'd know directly.

Press enter to save closure
Please add the ability to press enter when adding/editing a closure to save it. This will make it quicker to add and edit closures, especially when they need editing en masse
