Time based speed limits
Speed limits are not always a fixed ones. For example , roads around the schools have a speed limit of 30 kmph during the morning and evening hours. Whereas this limit is not valid for Sundays and during the rest of hours in a day.

This is a very important feature that is really needed specially now with the School Zones, i been adding School zones with their respective School zone speed, as per users feedback and my experience, is that you get the school alert ring, but it doesnt show you the school zone speed that goes in the Polygon, this speed should be show when you enter the School zone so users Know what speed is in effect during School zone hours.

Good example is ID 321909224 Arthur Matthyslaan, Borgerhout, Belgium. Only speedlimit when sign is on (during schooldays and around school hours). Now waze puts the speedlimit always at 30 km/hr, where the normal speedlimit is 50 except for schooldays, when the sign is illuminated and visible

Je suis d'accord avec cette suggestion, par exemple, je connais une route qui est limité à 70 km/h au lieu de 80 km/h uniquement du mois de juin à septembre

It would probably be better if we can report those from the car/app.
This would allow drivers to report a lowered speed limit on a highway or near a construction zones? Temporary stuff.

Une très bonne idée ! surtout au Pays-Bas où cette suggestion serait pertinente où il n'est pas rare d'avoir une limitation à 100 km/h entre 6h et 19h puis 120 km/h de 19h à 16h

I will also say even in the US, in the state of Arkansas, certain portions of the highway might be 65mph speed limit but 55mph at night.

Also need to consider the fact that when schools are off during summer etc. then these time-based speed limits are not applicable as there is no school

After dealing with what feels like 100 URs on the M4 this morning, I really do hope that the roadmap is short rather than long.
I also feel there's two types of time based speed limits that we could do with - the "permanent" time based speed limits - where you know that every week from 8am to 9am the road will be 20mph instead of 30mph, or every Sunday it's 30mph and the rest of the week is 60mph, and the temporary time based speed limits - the road will be 40mph for 3 months then back to 70mph but the date is unknown (rather like road closures)
I hope there will be a solution for both scenarios :)

This feature is extremely important, also outside of school zones. Germany has a lot of time based speed limits, especially for noise reduction at night, which are currently not visible at all on the Waze app.

Can we also add an identifier that you are in a school zone, or upcoming active school zone similar to what we do for railroad tracks?

There are many temporary speed limits, e.g. in kindergartens and schools. These should also be displayed. Since the smartphones that are used for navigating all have a clock, the implementation shouldn't be that difficult. Also, there are often different speeds during the day and at night.

Good idea, with the exception of tying it to the time period of the road closure -- speed limits are irrelevant on closed roads.

With the new SL UR options, we editors are being inundated with SL requests on the interstates in construction zones. Previously "quiet" areas in PA are now lit up with SL UR's all along I-81 for example. This option would be extremely helpful in reducing at least the Interstate requests.

This is definitely necessary. Having to bug an L4 or L5 multiple times to change a SL and change it back is a burden. If we can simply ask once, and give an expiration date, that would give us incentive to actually set them, knowing they won't be forgotten for too long after the construction ends. There are too many ULs we have to address regarding construction zone SLs. This process needs to be made easier if we are actually going to set them in construction zones widespread.

I could also see a feature like this being used in school zones. Awesome idea!
