Expand external visual cue on mouseover
Several years ago the WME interface was changed and it reduced how much information was visible when adding an external provider. You could no longer see the difference between two entries because the text simply isn't visible and longer place names make it worse. Editors would have to select a provider to see the address and determine if it was correct. If it was not, they would have to search again and select another entry. Repeat the process until you find the correct entry. If there is no entry, you have tried five different times to find out. For some places, there can even be multiple entries for a given store (Walmart Supercenter, Walmart Pharmacy, Walmart Auto, etc).
To deal with that, a script was written that allowed editors to mouse over the entry and and see directly on the map where the Google pin is located. This gave a very simple visual cue as to which entry was correct. We could simply hover over the entries until one has the pin in the correct location, ensuring accuracy and saving a lot of time.
Developers were recently asked to remove this functionality, due to its use of the Google API within WME.
Please add a native mouseover indicator of the Google pin location for the external entry.
Great timing! We’re currently working on it. Keep an eye out for updates on the WME.

This was a wonderful script feature that we were asked to have removed. Please consider this for me as it really helped making place linking easier.
Waze seems to be giving Google maps all their info, I don't understand why we can't at least use their info to help us.

It even allowed us to see whether the Google pin location is correct or not and request changes in Google Maps.

This option was very practical, allowing you to check that the new POI was located correctly.
