Replying and closing UR should give editors an edit point
Currently, when you close a User Report (UR), the count of resolved URs increases on the editor profile. However, there is no reward of an edit point.
Editors spend vast amounts of time looking for, investigating, replying and managing the lifecycle of a UR. I propose that both replies to a UR and closing a UR should each give a single edit point.
Given that Waze tracks the number of URs resolved, adding points retrospectively would also be appreciated. Though I understand UR replies couldn't be added retrospectively.
The awarding of these edit points should still be subject to throttling and have mechanisms to prevent points farming. Level 1 editors should continue to be unable to close URs.

Like user DeviateFromThePlan, I also thought that we have been gaining edits from UR -s for a long time. 🤦♂️🙄
This is really annoying. When you look at the reporting order of some countries, it is impossible not to notice that there is very little attention. Maybe this situation can raise some awareness.

This could be a double-edged sword. I am for all for those who have been painstakingly working on verifying and solving the URs. However, points farming can happen at any editing level, so I am also for a throttling mechanism in place.
I can foresee such practice will result in editors disputing points being unrightfully denied, so maybe there should be a method where Staff or Coordinators may endorse point awards which have exceeded the daily limit, for instance.

Amazing! I always thought URs counted as edits but I must've been wrong.

Not only points, it should be counted as an edit. Also for a comment in the UR. Gathering information to fix URs is more time consuming than fixing it and closing it.

Providing edit points in this way will also encourage L2 and L3 editors to work on URs thus reducing the load on higher level editors
